To the boss's rescue

"Aren't you going already?" Dozzy asked from the door. With his head inside my office and his legs outside, it's not all that difficult to know he doesn't intend to stay long, at all.

"Nah, I have to complete the project with the boss. He asked me to come in after work."

" Why didn't he give you a day's grace? "

" I don't know." I shrug as I started packing the files on my table. "Least I forget, thanks for removing those pictures earlier. I know it took your day and all that. I'm truly sorry. "

" You don't have to feel sorry, or anything of that sort. The boss was the one who gave me a free day. He asked me to remove those pictures from the official site."

" What?" I turned fully to face him as I tried to make out the words he had just spoken.

" I heard from BB, that he sacked the females who were talking about you. This he did as a sort of warning to others who might try to follow the footsteps of others."

I stood from my chair. The weight of the news I heard cannot be digested while sitting. You need to fully stand for you to digest it fully. "You don't mean what you're saying. There's no way the boss would have done what he did."

I shook my head in denial.

It's not possible for the boss to be like that. No, it can't be. There's absolutely no way for the boss who doesn't like hearing me breathe will do something like that for me.

It's not possible at all.

I know the boss. He's not one to help others, especially not me.

"I heard it from BB. You think she lied?" He raised a brow, "I know BB gossips, but you know one thing I like about her?"

I shook my head at his questions.

" She doesn't lie. All her gossips are the truth. That's why she's known as authentic."

"I'm out." I carried my suitcase, and walk out of my office.

" You're not going to escort me to the elevator?" Dozzy called out.

" Are you still a baby? Don't you know the way to the elevator?" I raise a brow at him, although I'm quite aware, he can't see the raised brow.

I hurried to the boss's private elevator.

" Nah, I want you to escort me."

"A pity, love, I don't think I can do that." I wave at him as I entered the elevator.

As the elevator rode up, I can't help but think about what Dozzy told me.

Can this be true?

The boss helped me?

I walk out of the elevator the moment it arrived at my destination. Looking at his door from the distance, I took a very deep, steady breath before I continued with my walk.

I knock on the door before I entered.

"Good evening boss. Oh, Mr Salen, good evening. I never did see you there." I smile at the furious Salen.

I don't need a prophet to tell me He's angry over the fact I interrupted their meeting.

"I was about to call you. Thought you decided to bolt for your home."

"And risk sending down your wrath on me? Nah, I don't think so." I take a seat next to Salen who's looking murderous and sweet at the same time.

With the double expression perfectly maintained, I had this urge in me to ask how he managed to maintain the look.

I gave his clothes a once over, instantly feeling small and insignificant based on my choice of clothing for the day.

I look more like someone whose mother allowed me to play dress-up, compared to how neat and sophisticated Salen is.

His cuteness and neatness are weapons he makes use of, and they rhyme perfectly with each other.

Today, he's dressed in a sea-green suit; one that looks tailor-made.

Just at a glance, you'll notice the suit was custom-made, and not just bought.

Salen noticed me checking him out, and he smirked. He scrunched his nose in detest when he gave me a once over.

His expression told me what it is he thinks of my dressing.

"I'm sorry Salive — I can tell the boss is being harsh here— I need to start my work. If you don't mind, you can see yourself to the door."

" It's Salen." He answered in a tight voice, his palm balled into a fist as he smiled manically.

"Oh, Salen? I'm sorry. I'm not too familiar with these strange names."

"It's of no worry. You don't have a problem, I understand perfectly well." Salen stood from his chair, "you can call me on the phone when you're less busy. Don't worry, I'll always make out time for you."

"I'll be sure to call you when I have the chance. Expect my calls in the future." Mar waved as he said those words.

"And Osy?" Salen turned at the last minute.

"Yes?"

"Remember what I warned you about. I'm a male who loves it when people do the part allocated to them." With those final words, he left the office.

"Dark!" Mar placed his palm on his forehead. "I thought I'll have to endure an hour more with him."

The boss complained. At first, I dong know if he wants me to hear his words, or if he was talking to himself.

"What's wrong?"

"You need to have a moment with that man. I just don't get his way. He acts too sweet and sugary, it makes me want to purge."

I laugh at his words, "and you don't like sugary and sweet? Is that even possible?"

"Of course, it is. You need to have an hour with him. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about."

It's not possible, boss.

He only acts sweet and sugary with you. With me, the only language he hears is violence. He's never happy in my presence.

"I'll keep that in mind." Instead of the words I wanted to answer his questions with, I opted for this.
