The second assassin

Kakuda sat on the chair, and allowed the words his mother spoke, to fully sink into his subconscious.

He has to do something, he's aware of that. However, the second prince doesn't want to do anything that might hurt the princess.

She's the only person whose opinion of him matters a lot.

He stood up from the chair he was sittings on and paced the floors of the throne room.

Now that he has asked his men to withdraw to the top of the mountains, it will be difficult for him to call them back. And flying over there to meet them, will make him look suspicious.

Who knows, the crown prince might have sent dragons to trail him and report all his suspicious activities, to him.

He continued to pace the floors, as he thought about the right approach to take.

Kakuda Knows he has to be careful with anything he's doing, else, he might either be killed or exiled.
