Finally Magnus knocked on a set of heavy double doors stained black and painted with the royal crest: a gold crown with five points framed by six wingstwo white, two black, two silver. The Dredknights standing guard pulled the doors open, and immediately closed them again the moment everyone was inside.
"I am glad to see you safely arrived, Your Grace." King Waldemar Guldbrandsen sat at a large table, a dark-haired woman to his lefthis second wife, Queen Bergliot, if Kristof was not mistaken.
Kristof strode across the room until he was seven or so paces from the table, then dropped to one knee and bowed his head. "By the grace of the Sacred Heart and your will, Majesty, I am here to serve."
