"Oh, no, it's a fight now, screw them," Anderson replied. "And I know I'm not an investigator anymore, but the whole sickness that nobody else is noticing troubles me. I want to know what's going on. Fuck, I forgot to call the feds about the weird energy thing nobody around here seems to be noticing."

Lynn idly caressed and petted him. "You know, I thought I'd be the one to have trouble adjusting to not being an agent anymore. But you sound really sulky about having to call for help instead of being the one called."

"Please. You'd be just as bad if you weren't thoroughly distracted." Anderson poked him, grinned when Lynn scowled. "You're enthralled with planning our wedding and I bet if I snooped on your computer, I'd find plans for a nursery and such, too. You're already counting down the days until you can be called mom. Who do you think you're fooling?"
