Breach And Clear

I sat in a SWAT van going full speed down a road in a quiet neighborhood. The sirens were blaring as the van moved. This was the second drug bust today, but the only difference was now we had the feds. We had Agent Lilly Moore, and Agent Adam Rodriguez.

"Alright! We go in, move fast, and get out. Secure all you can, and don't shoot unless they do. Clear!?" Sergeant First Class Foster said. Brooklyn Foster, our team lead, and a badass SWAT officer.

"Hey Washington! Keep behind the Hammer." Sergeant Keaton Smith yelled. It echoed off the walls and rang a bit in my ears.

"Hey Smith! Don't throw a flash in front of me again. Shit hurts." Private First Class William "Hammer" Boswell called out.

"Hey. Cut the chatter. We're here." I said.

Me on the other hand. I'm Trainee Jack Robledo. I was just here for my last bit of on the job training. I opened the doors, and stepped out of the van. The FBI agents and SWAT officers following me. The officers had a mix of MP5s, M4A1s, and The Hammer had his shield and battering ram. The two agents with us both carried Glock 17s.

I looked at the house. It didn't look too different from the other houses on the block. Two stories, light blue paint with white trim, small garden, attic, and a small two car garage. It's colors looked unnatural against the black void, and dark grey clouds lining in the sky.

"Alright. Harvey and Perez you two go around back, and catch any runners." Brooklyn ordered.

They both nodded and moved around the house. The rest of us lined the front door. Agent Moore took lead.

She knocked on the door, and got to the side "FBI! We're coming in!" she yelled as Smith got a flashbang ready.

He opened the door quickly and threw it in, it went off in an instant with a loud bang. The Hammer went in first. Next was Agent Moore.

"Fuck you pigs!" I heard a man scream as bullets ripped through the air.

Agent Moore fell back, and landed on the stone steps leading up to the porch we were on. Her vest, arms, legs, and face were riddled with bullets. Blood flowed down the steps, and her eyes were left open.

"Foxtrot Actual down!" Smith called out.

Agent Rodriguez leaned in and fired two rounds. "Suspect down!" The Hammer yelled. The rest of us filed in.

"Sierra One, and Sierra Five checking right." Smith said.

"Foxtrot one holding stairs." Agent Rodriguez said.

"Sierra Actual and Sierra Two taking left." The Hammer said.

Me and Smith swept the right side of the first floor. I checked rooms while Smith watched my back. I heard two shots followed by a clang of metal, and three return shots.

"Suspect down!" Brooklyn shouted. Me and Smith continued our sweep without incident. Both teams moved to the stairs where Agent Rodriguez was still waiting.

"Sierra Two take point." Brooklyn ordered.

Hammer nodded, and moved up the stairs. The team followed, and swept the stairs. A woman leaned over the railing with a pistol. I fired two rounds at her before she could shoot.

"Suspect down." I called out to my team.

"Confirm it Sierra Two." Smith said.

Hammer got up the stairs, and went to the suspect. "Kill confirmed. Clean shot Sierra Five." He said.

The whole team got up the doors and broke off into teams. Three on the left two on the right. We checked the first set of rooms without incident.

"Room clear!" Smith yelled.

"Second that!" Agent Rodriguez called back.

Both teams moved to the second set of doors. Smith opened our door. A twelve gauge got fired hitting him in the arm. He fell back behind the wall, and the barrel came through the doorway. I hit it up as he fired again. I kicked the suspect down and disarmed him. Smith slowly moved in with me. I kept my gun aimed at the suspect I disarmed as Smith swept the room.

"One suspect down, and room cleared!" Smith said kneeling down holding his arm.

I heard gun fire from the other room. "Two suspects down, and room cleared!" Brooklyn said back.

"You okay Sierra One?" I asked.

"Nothing a trip to the bar can't fix Sierra Five" Smith answered flashing a cocky smile.

"Smith's hurt, we got suspects hurt and dead, no drugs, and on top of it we got an agent down." Brooklyn said.

"What about the attic?" I asked, stepping out into the hallway.

"Attic?" Brooklyn asked confused.

"Yeah. The light was on." I said looking at the ceiling.

A string dangled from the ceiling, and I slowly pulled on it. "Permission to take point, sir?" I asked putting my gun on my back, and taking my pistol out.

Brooklyn nodded, and I slowly moved up the ladder. At the end I saw a woman opening a window. I climbed up the ladder and aimed my pistol.

"SAPD! Stop and put your hands up!" She looked at me, and slowly moved her hand down. "Don't do it! I will shoot you!" I yelled.

She moved quickly, and I fired six rounds in quick succession. The woman stumbled and fell out the window, and I heard a thud on the ground. I searched the the rest of the attic and looked out the window while putting my gun away. The woman lay dead face down in a growing pool of blood. I sighed and looked around.

I counted an initial of the drugs on the tables. I counted twelve blocks of cocaine, ten bricks of heroin, five vacuum sealed bags of weed, and at least fifteen bags of meth.

"Damn," I said to myself looking around.

I came down the ladder, and my team was rounding up everyone we captured. They all had zip ties on their wrists behind their back. We walked out, and regrouped in the front yard with the suspects we arrested. Agent Moore still lay dead on the steps.

"I gotta call her family." Agent Rodriguez said sadly walking away taking a phone out of his pocket while taking his vest off.

My team sat down as Brooklyn called an ambulance. I looked down as everything started to hit me. The adrenaline started to wear off, and I couldn't stop myself from breaking down.

"You okay kid?" Hammer said sitting next to me rubbing my back. I nodded quickly trying to hold it back. "Hey hey hey kid. I remember my first mission. I did this as well. You're human it happens. Targets turn to humans, and blanks turn into bullets. Everyday we gear up, we roll out, and we do our job. It doesn't get easier, but you get used to it. Okay kid? Now go in the van, finish this in there, and I'll get you when crime techs are here okay?" Hammer said.

I nodded, grabbed my gear, and went into the back of the van breaking down.
