Plant department

Josh finished eating and left the table. He looked again at the girl sitting with him. Surprisingly, she was also looking at him.

"Bye… see you around," Josh said without thinking much.

"Yeah… see you around," the girl said dispassionately.

'Have we become friends? Uncle Beard said that to seal friendship to girls you should wink to them... For guys, a handshake will do...'

Josh winked to the girl before finally leaving.

'...'

Josh placed his plate on the washing counter and proceeded on his way to the plant magic theory department. Josh passed through the hallway leading to the gym. He walked by the corridor on its sides and was surprised to see that there are also fields for basketball and soccer. There was also a field on the center of the three with pure hard concrete as its floor with armored dummies standing scattered around it.

"Maybe this is the training grounds…" Josh mumbled inaudibly.

After walking for another half an hour, he saw a building with a huge placard on its entrance,

*Plant Magic Department*

The placard was made of dark brown oak wood. The letters are made of plants that grew fruits and flowers—making it look more dazzling.

"Whoaa… This is so cool!"

Josh entered the building and was surprised to see very huge trees. There are no building floors, only trees. The whole place was surrounded by a huge dome of glass giving it the effect of being inside a greenhouse room.

Josh walked the path clear of plants in front of him. He was amazed to see that the trees are actually used as rooms for the classes. On his way, he saw a tree with a signage scroll (mana paper) store' beneath it is a wooden door with light brown color. The tree is as thick as a house.

Josh walked further in and saw a red oak tree with signage 'First-year building.' After looking again on his map, he was certain that this was the building assigned to first-years like him.

Josh opened the door and was greeted with a classroom set-up room. There he saw youths the same age as him either chatting, standing, or surfing the net. Josh simply sat on one of the empty tables in the second row from the front.

After just a minute, a man wearing green robes entered the room. He walked to the podium in front and silently wrote something on the chalkboard. The students thought that he was the instructor, so they got back to their seats even without instruction.

"Hi, I'm you're instructor for this year on plant magic theory. Address me by 'Sir Zeel'. So, for today, I will brief you first about scrolls, incantation, mana, and mana blessing. I hope that all of you will listen carefully as these topics are, although somehow trivial, still important for humanity's magic."

"And also, please turn your phones or integrated glasses to silent or vibrate mode. I don't want too much interruption. If you feel like going out to CR or something, you may just leave without asking for permission. I can take a record of your faces with just a glance after all."
