"Ugh… why the hell…"
"…That bum as* girl again…"
"I bet the b*tch works at a pub. Looks like the type to bed professors for extra marks too."
"Heh. She looks the type who'd do it. Should I hit her up and see if I can score well in that area?'
Suyoung heard many whispering voices directed towards the girl loudly and without care. This, he thought, was a common development often found in fictional stories. The strong reaction he saw looked unrealistic to him.
Suyoung scoffed and looked at the female student.
She was beautiful and smart… but she was poor. She excelled in her studies… but her character aroused the jealousy of others around her. She was the archetype of an important character playing a vital role in the fictional world.
'Hmph. You act like children.'
There was a good number of both male and female delinquents and snobbish students in the classroom full of themselves due to their small bit of wealth backing them. They looked pathetic. No. They are pathetic.
Suyoung scoffed in disdain.
Suyoung was a chaebol son, the rich of the rich. Kim su young's thoughts and feelings somehow passed down to him and the feelings he felt were strong towards the pathetic and lowly rich.
He frowned in disgust and rolled his lips together.
A second later, the blabbering students gossiping loudly quickly shivered in fear. Suyoung had let out a cold aura of death that permeated in the air, an indication that they stop their silly tirades.
'Perhaps it's my imagination?'
He couldn't recall any important female characters attending MARA University.
Suyoung blinked his eyes and studied the female student using Mana of Information.
Mana of information is ability that he get after consuming many of mana potion everyday like drinking water and he controlled the mana without getting sick as side effects. the mana on his body also increase in rapid rate. he felt grateful for mc, if he doesn't get experiment on like lab rat, he wouldn't know about this abilities. 'let save him later before he gets kidnapped' Suyoung thought.
And thanks to his hard work and efforts practicing his ability, he was now able to read brief information of any man and woman.
「-」Level 1.
Name: song aera
Age: Twenty-One
Unawakened talent Ability: A-Rank
Current Status: Fatigue… sickness
"Large amount of accumulated fatigue, stress, pressure, depression, strong denial, and despair."
Suyoung's eyes widened.
He knew the name song aera.
She was an important character, more so than others. She was the protagonist's older sister.
'why is she here?' Suyoung thought
Song aera was sincere and kind, but foolish sometimes. Her character was unrealistic that it seemed like the author was creating his dream girl.
But why was she in MARA University of all places?
Suyoung rested his chin on his palm, his brows furrowed while lost in thought. He remembered most of the contents from the novel. Though Aera's past hadn't been described in detail, it was said that she had an unhappy and unfortunate life.
'Yeah… that's right… she'd do part-time job… to support the main character…'
If she was attending MARA University, she need not worry about affording daily expenses. She'd receive full scholarship should her marks score at a certain level. And for the top-ranking students, they'd receive stipulations equivalent to a businessman's average salary for regular living expenses.
Song aera was a beautifully smart model student, but she looked to be in a horridly terrible state than when she first appeared in the novel.
The main character's misfortune began when his sister, Song aera, had been admitted to the hospital. It was a living nightmare for the two siblings. They had accumulated a high amount of medical expenses as well as a rising debt they needed to settle.
Only
'A-Rank unawakened talent ability…'
If her unawakened talent ability was A-Ranked, then her ability would allow her to become one of the top 1% in the ranking talent. MARA University wouldn't dare pass up a valuable asset like her.
So… why was her health like that?
Why wasn't she attending university when the story began?
The unanswered questions lead to Suyoung growing more and more curious.
The questions she asked were acute to the topic and high level that the professor had forgotten Jinwoo's existence for a moment and joyfully answered her question in full delight.
The lesson hadn't ended earlier than intended. There was no reason to complain, yet he saw several of the students openly making derisive comments.
Suyoung never expected these sort of people in MARA University. It was an elite university so he had some expectations, and because it was rare for students to act like what he's seeing now.
"Look at her trying so hard."
"Heh. Those are the same clothes she wore yesterday, right?"
"Oh God, the pungent smell!"
Suyoung was dumbfounded at their childish behavior. He shook his head, sighing. He couldn't believe what he was seeing MARA University was an elite university—the best of the best who came to learn and work.
What happened to the staff? Were they drunk admitting students here and there willy nilly?
Well… he, Kim suyoung, did have a personal landing strip allocated just for him on the school grounds… illicit admission wasn't far from reality either.
'Looks like I should investigate.'
It would be hard for him to ignore someone who played an important role in the novel, especially a character like Aera.
Soon, the class ended and it was time for lunch. He thought that it'd be difficult to attend school, so he decided that it'd be better to change his free allotted time to the afternoon class. Though, actually, it'd be more beneficial to stay at home and develop his abilities.
As soon as the lesson ended, Suyoung saw Aera leave class quickly.
"Are you interested in her?" Irene asked.
"Not really," Suyoung lied, "but… in any case, can you look into her? From when she was admitted to now. I want you to investigate thoroughly. Give me every detail you can."
"Every detail… andthoroughlyinvestigate her. I see…" Irene nodded. "Understood, young master."
"And get her a bodyguard," Suyoung added.
"Yes, young master."
From the information he gained using his Mana of Information, her status was unusual.
As he stepped out of the lecture hall, people stood to the side waiting for him in the hallway. He could hear them talking rudely about Aera.
A slightly tubby man chucked a friendly smile and bowed his head. He had the appearance of a nasty and underhanded underling.
"It's a pleasure meeting you, Suyoung-nim. I'm the 32nd student body president, Park sungho. And this is the department…"
As Park sungho stepped closer to Suyoung, Irene appeared beside him and prevented Park sungho from getting any closer.
As Park sungho tried to walk towards Suyoung, Irene appeared from beside him and stopped him from getting any closer.
Suyoung looked down at Park sungho. He started sweating and kept his mouth shut.
Park sungho appeared several times in the original novel. He was the stereotypical villain extra who'd often ignore or mock the main character only to end up being taught a regretful lesson in the end.
In the original novel, Park sungho was Kim suyoung second-hand man. If his memory was correct, the point where kim suyoung became the protagonist's antagonist villain wasbecauseof Park sungho.
'Hmm… looks like their relationship began in this university.'
Since Kim suyoung attended the university every once in a while, he was bound to meet Park sungho.
Suyoung felt himself growing tired. He saw not one but two characters playing a role in the novel in the span of one day.
His head hurt a bit.
Even though he came to MARA University with a light heart to improve his mood, he ended up walking out with a heavy heart.
"How about having lunch together? In the student council restaurant—"
"Is it a different place than the school ground restaurant?" Suyoung cut him off.
"Yes! Of course. It's a VIP restaurant available only to the student bodies and elites. Today's menu is especially air delivered…"
"I see."
Though they only spoke for a short moment, Suyoung received a strong impression that it was no proper student body but more like a private organization.
It looked like they were all from the same clique of people who entered the university not from talent or skill but because of their company, household, or wealthy connections. They were likely similar in all ways… probably had power around the school grounds, too.
"Let's go together! We promise to treat you well!"
"We've always admired you, Suyoung-nim!"
"We'll bring freshmen as well…"
As the people circled around him, Park sungho included was one of the many few who insulted Aera, he didn't feel any particular goodwill toward them.
If he was the main character, wouldn't he fume with anger and let out a blood-curling punch to their ugly faces?
Only
There was nothing Suyoung could gain from them even if they were to get along. It'd only bring him endless troubles.
He didn't want to waste his time.
And why bother with idiots like them?
The thought of going home and feel the refreshing breeze of the air conditioner while drinking beer and relaxing came to mind.
Suyoung looked at the people around him; he shook his head side to side before turning around.
"We also have things we want to talk to you about and… huh? W-wait a minute! Suyoung-nim!"
As suyoung ignored the group and the leader, Park sungho immediately followed after him.
He was just about to grab Suyoung's shoulder.
