Warning: lots of swearing
"Yeah not this time Sophia."
Lady Melissa replied.
"Well hopefully you can sleep again soon."
Sophia said.
"Yeah, I hope so too. Anyways what did you come in here for Sophia?"
"Oh, there's a letter from Lady Celine, so I came into your room to deliver it, in hopes that you already woke up."
"Oh?"
Lady Melissa replied, and Sophia handed over to Lady Melissa the letter in question.
"It just arrived this morning so I rushed to your room, since I KNOW you'd be delighted."
Sophia said enthusiastically.
"So…. you should open it up or something."
Sophia said, curious to find out the contents of the letter.
"No."
Lady Melissa coldly said.
"Huh what do you mean Lady Melissa?"
Sophia asked, with a puzzled expression on her face.
"Do you need me to say it in Spanish Sophia? N O."
Sophia was shocked but she quickly left the room, embarrassed and Lady Melissa didn't feel the least built guilty, after all she needed to lash out her anger on not being able to sleep, and unfortunately Sophia just happenned to be there…
" Let's see what's in this letter."
Lady Melissa said outloud to herself.
Lady Melissa carefully opened the letter, making sure not to damage or rip out any of the paper inside of it.
After a few more minutes of careful opening, Lady Melissa successfully opened the letter revealing a small piece of a paper inside of it with her name on top.
Lady Melissa read out the letter.
"I hope you are doing well Lady Melissa, and don't worry about the dress you can keep it,i look forward to seeing you on the next tea party.
-Best Regards
Lady Celine"
The letter was surprisingly shorter than Lady Melissa thought it would be, heck it was even shorter than hers, although it was short though her face lit up after reading the letter.
Lady Melissa saw Lady Celine as a younger sister, a younger sister that she could never have, and a younger sister that wasn't biologically related to her.
'Should i write a reply?'
Lady Melissa thought.
After a few more minutes of Lady Melissa internally debating with herself in her head she decided against the idea, after all what would she say? She didn't know what to talk about. So thus, she decided not to send Lady Celine another a letter.
Lady Melissa quickly got reminded of something as she heard the clock strike.
Quickly she glanced at the clock, g*d she hoped it wasn't too late.
Lady Melissa glanced at the clock, seeing it hit 10 AM.
'Okay I still have a lot of spare time before meeting whoever the fuck sent that weird ass invitation.'
Lady Melissa thought, she had exactly five more hours before she would have to meet up with whoever had sent her the letter.
So in Lady Melissa's brain that meant four hours and thirty minutes of relaxing, 10 minutes of rushing whatever she needed to bring. And the remaining 15-20 minutes for the time needed to arrive at her destination.
Lady Melissa quickly took a warm shower, changing from her pyjamas to some regular clothing, before quickly going downstairs to eat breakfast with her parents.
"Good morning Mother, good morning Father."
Lady Melissa casually said, greeting the both of them.
"Good morning dearie, how was your sleep?"
The Duchess asked, curiously.
"Oh, it was wonderful, I catched a lot of sleep."
Lady Melissa effortlessly lied putting on a fake smile, not wanting to worry her mother about anything.
"That's good to hear, looks like you can sleep nowadays?"
The Duchess asked once more.
"Yep."
Lady Melissa replied, nodding her head in agreement.
"What do you want to eat this morning Melissa?"
The Duke said, sounding as blunt as ever.
"Hmm."
Lady Melissa thought for a few seconds, not knowing what she wanted to eat.
Lady Melissa called a servant, so the servant could write down her order and tell the chef in the kitchen.
"Tell the chef to suprise me, he's worked here long enough to know my taste buds."
Lady Melissa replied, not knowing what to order.
Nevertheless the servant who was now confused, took down Lady Melissa's order before going back into the kitchen and telling the chef.
" What'd you tell the servant Melissa? "
Her father asked, sounding interest in whatever Lady Melissa had told the servant, since Lady Melissa had practically whispered her order to the servant, the Duke and Duchess weren't able to hear it.
"Oh, I told the servant to tell the chef to suprise me, I wasn't craving anything special and didn't know what to order either so this was a good way of deciding."
Lady Melissa said, explaining to her father.
"Ah, are you not afraid that the chef messes up your order though Melissa?"
The Duke said, not having a lot of faith in the chef.
"Oh we can always fire him if he messes up."
Lady Melissa said, with an intimidating smile on her face.
'I'm being more of a bitch than usual.'
Lady Melissa thought, these were one of the rare moments where she wasn't in the best mood to deal with all the bullshit she goes through every single day.
The Duke went silent for a few seconds before replying.
"That's my daughter!"
The Duke cheerfully said, surprising Lady Melissa with his actions.
"Huh?Wh-?"
Lady Melissa said, with a puzzled expression on her face.
"It's good that your learning to be more cold and selfish of yourself, Melissa. You know, your a really kind young woman, and you were often taken advantage of because of your kindness, so this is a step forward!"
The Duke cheerfully said, smiling at Lady Melissa.
" Well I guess your not wrong….. "
Lady Melissa doubtingly said.
" Your fathers right dearie, your too kind and because of that kindness you often get taken advantage of. "
Her mother said, sipping some of her tea.
"I guess I'll try to be more selfish then."
Lady Melissa replied, her tone sounding uncertain.
