Hot Coffee

"So umm, Marianna." said Edmond and I gave him a thin lipped smile as I turned my attention to him, "how are doing? How has your life been?"


"Hard, but I'm alive." I shrugged, and he nodded, and Marissa nudge me which I think meant that I should be more polite, and I sighed doing just that, "so uhh Edmond, how are you doing?"


"I'm good I'm good. A little shaken up by today, but I'll be okay. No, I'll be better than okay. I have daughter." he said, and I smiled, "an you Marissa. I never knew that you would have wanted to see me. I thought that you hated me."


"Hate you? Oh no no, I could never." said Marissa taking his hand to make him look at her, "I understand that you were just a kid. We were just kids, and although I don't agree with what your parents did, I could never blame you for it."
