The next day I woke up not remembering my dream but that feeling still continued to persist in me.
All of a sudden, I shuddered while remembering a stalker I had once. I was never able to find out who it was. I remember being watched constantly but the gaze of a hungry wolf. I wonder why that stalker came up all of a sudden.
Anyway, that memory ruined my morning. I quickly got up and did my usual morning technique.
A few sword swings, a few workout routines, and my daily voice training.
After that was said and done, I kicked, well pushed Hajime off his bed. He landed on the floor with a loud thud.
He yelped in pain and got up while glaring at me. This bastard really deserved it after what happened yesterday. Also, I was in a bad mood this morning and wanted to… refresh myself.
After that was set and done, we quickly refreshed ourselves and headed toward breakfast before all of us would head toward the dungeon.
While we were having breakfast a hateful glare landed on both of us. I turned to Hajime, and he seemed to have noticed it as well. I have to say that his senses are pretty sharp for someone who has never honed their senses.
We tried searching around for the person behind this case but was never able to find the culprit, the slimy bastard eluded us.
All throughout that time, that hateful glare filled with venom looked at us throughout breakfast. I knew that. Something was going to happen, but that feeling persisted that I must not interfere.
Just in case I would bring a flute to play a hypnotic song. I found out that the best instrument to use a hypnotic song on would be a flute.
I quickly hid away my flute and went to join up with the rest of the class.
As we were making our way to the dungeon, we were all a bit giddy including me.
I always wondered how the entrance would look like. Would it look big and majestic or would it look dark and gloomy?
As we arrived, I was greatly disappointed. The entrance looked like a reception room. My hopes and dreams were instantly dashed away.
I guess reality and fiction are two completely things. Well not really. Even though I don't remember much of my past life I can say that this world was a work of fiction.
Anyway, as we were making our way to the dungeon that gaze still lingered on both of us. I really wanted to kill that person.
We entered the dungeon and it looked completely different. The atmosphere had completely changed
It was dark and gloomy. The air was musty. The visibility was low, but you could still see. It was as if candles were illuminating the hallways. The tunnel seemed naturally made, but if you observed carefully and felt the hallways carefully that wasn't completely the case.
Everybody looked visibly tense and for a good reason. It was their first time going into a dungeon. Although all of us fought monsters at the outskirts of the capital, we were facing a new challenge that awaited us ahead.
However, that foreboding feeling kept on increasing telling me that something was going to happen, but I should not meddle with the outcome. Also, that hateful gaze locked on both of us had something to do with my foreboding feeling.
As the front group kept on going forward, they would slay the beast that got in our way. The knights would sometimes send some injured beast to Hajime for him to kill them.
At first, they thought that he would not be able to do it. However, the ingenious way that he dealt with it earned the respect of the knights.
Although Hajime was the weakest link in our group, he held his own.
At one point, the knights decided to send him to the front of the lines to test his luck.
Lo and behold, he wasn't able to do it because he only used his sword and that is all.
Kouki started criticizing Hajime that if he spent more time on training instead of in the library, he would get a lot better.
He really did piss me off.
Hajime really did look depressed. So, when we took our break, I went up to him to talk to him.
Ains – "What is wrong Hajime? You really look out of it."
Hajime – "You really do know me well Ains. *Sigh* Ains I don't know what to do. I want to help, but they say that I am useless in whatever I do."
He really looked depressed. I don't like seeing him like this. I sit down next to him.
Ains – "You know Hajime, you don't have to worry what the others say about you. You have your own path to follow. Even though you have the job class of a synergist you have an ingenious way to use it. Nobody would have thought about it except you. So don't get down and just focus on what you have right now. Perfect it so it can become something better."
Hajime just nodded even more determined now.
As we continued our journey, a Rockmount decided to attack the group. The girls at the front were horrified of the thing because it looked extremely ugly.
Kouki misinterpreted it thinking that they were afraid because they might have died.
Like the 'hero' he was he used an 'overpower' move at his level. Captain Meld raged saying that he could have brought it down the hallway.
Then suddenly, Kaori turned to look at the crumbled section of the wall.
Kaori – "What is that? It's all sparkly…"
At her words, everyone turned to look in the direction she was pointing.
A strange mineral was sticking out of the wall glowing a pale blue.
All the girls were entranced, even I was entranced by how beautiful it looked.
Captain Meld explained it was a glanz crystal and it was rare to see a big one. That also was used in many accessories including engagement rings.
Kaori – "That sounds so lovely…"
Kaori blushed and then took a quick peek in Hajime's direction.
Hiyama – "In that case, I'll go grab it for us!"
As soon as those words left his mouth, my foreboding feeling increased, and my instincts screamed at me to run.
I was about to yell at him not to grab it, but one of the soldiers yelled it is a trap.
Captain Meld – "What!? Stop!"
However, it was too late. As soon as Hiyama touched it, a magic circle flowed bright, then grew large enough to encompass the entire room.
Then the room was silent while we were teleported elsewhere.
