Aang

The house the Aang gang was living in was actually smaller then the one me and the girls were in. It seemed like disrespect in my eyes, but at the same time, it wasn't me soooo. Not like I could actually give a shit. I looked around confused until I found what I was looking for Appa. He was laying in a patch of grass behind the building. Where Aang was brushing his coat of fur.

I did feel a little relieved over this. I would've been legitimately heart broken if Appa was still kidnapped. Thankfully though it seemed something changed and Appa was not kidnapped, which begged the question did they visit the library? Or did the message I left with Won Shi Tong get to them.

Katara called out for Aang and he answered. "I'm over here Katara!"

Katara had smug look on her face, like a proud soccer mom actually. "Are you ready to meet the one and only avatar?"

I shrugged, "I mean he's right there."

Sokka let out a snort and Katara punched him. We ended up next to Aang and he really was still a kid. "Hold on a second I'm nearly done brushing Appa's fur out."

Katara punched Sokka again, "Hey, what was that for?"

"I don't know you are the one with a new friend."

"Oh right."

Aang turned around and looked at all of us. I took a second just to stare at him. Taking a short breath I pushed past any awkardness I had. I wasn't the best with people younger then me, but I wanted to get this done and over.

"My name is Orin, I have been...summoned by powerful spirits to teach you how to energy bend."

Katara's jaw dropped and Aang froze. Katara looked at Sokka and started yelling at him. "Why did you not mention this!"

Aang just looked at me confused, "Energy bend? What is that and well I guess why?"

"Are you really gonna kill the fire lord? Others can do it for you, but let's be real. Are you gonna let them?"

Sokka nodded, "Orin is right, I've been thinking about this for a while and I thought I would need to prepare you for this. Katara I know you thought about it too."

Katara sighed and Aang looked down. I spoke again, "That's why I am more or less here. Like I said powerful spirits sent me to teach you energy bending. That way instead of killing him you can simply take his bending away."

Yet again another shock came across Katara and Aang's faces. Looking between the two I sighed. "We should sit down for the rest of this, because i feel like you are just gonna keep getting more shocked."

Winding up around a small table I opened the conversation again. "I am just gonna fragment this summary so we can get through this quicker alright?"

The three nodded, Sokka didn't really need to, but he nodded as well. I then continued.

"First as you know Avatar brings balance, current most obvious imbalance is the war. To end this war properly the fire nation has to have their morale crushed. To be honest killing the fire lord won't do that, since you know fire nation royal family."

I waited for the look of understanding and went on. "So by teaching the avatar energy bending he can cause complete powerlessness. basically giving a wave into depression for the fire nation."

Sokka spoke up, "Can I ask what the reason why you can't do it?"

Thinking about it for a second I nodded. "Good question! However telling that if I do it since I am in a relationship with the princess I think people will just see it as usurping. Not to mention I am just some guy in all of people's minds. I could become a legend, but it raises new questions like if this guy can do this why can't we? That's how you get fanatics, just not goo-"

"Wait can we go back to the princess part?"

I smiled I skimmed quickly over it for this exact reason allowing me to openly explain and open their eyes to some compassion for, well Azula didn't really need compassion. I nodded, "You met her like an hour ago Sokka."

"What?"

"Yeah literally."

Katara jumped up, "Wait wait, so you are in a relationship with the fire nation princess? HER BROTHER HAS BEEN CHASING US DOWN!"

"Good question! Not really a question, but it does allow me to explain some things. Zuko has been chasing you down because its basically the only way he can receive his father's love. Not a great excuse, but I am sure you can understand if I tell you that his father is the one who scarred his face right?"

Katara's outburst died down and Aang raised a new question. "Is Zuko's sister like him?"

"What? God no, shes crazy and cute... That's unrelated though, her problems actually come from what I would call unknown mental illness and a Mom that thought she was a monster. Combine that with a dad that literally scorched his own son's face and forced his wife to murder his father for the throne. Well you can see how fucked the fire nation's royal family is. It also doesn't help that they are related to the previous avatar. I mean can you imagine?"

This time all three of them were shocked. Sokka was a little more stunned that he literally saw Azula earlier and didn't put that together, but he still sat their stupefied. I nodded, speaking in a colder tone. "Right also, if you meet Azula later and talk to her. Mention any of what I just said and I will kill you. I don't think she will kill me, but I will likely lose out on some great benefits and then need to clean up the mess so i would prefer if you keep that part to yourselves."

The three of them nodded and I dropped my colder tone. "Which brings me back to the problem of anyone other then the avatar beating the fire lord. Balance won't be achieved unless Aang beats him with absolute victory."

"Which is why you were given this quest to teach him energy bending? Wait why you then? Isn't that like a conflict of interested."

I understood what Sokka meant, "You may be surprised, but my love for beautiful women was my own choice. Though I can understand the question and you won't get an answer."

Aang voice cracked his own question. Bring up a very good question at that. "So then does that mean Princess Azula wants to usurp her father?"

I nodded, "In a way yes. At this point no one wants the war. Azula isn't complete on board with all the peace loving reason, but you get the idea. The war needs to end and the world needs to agree on the ending."

Sokka cursed, "Shit!" Before he continued Katara spoke. "Language! Though I know what you just realized." Aang asked, "Realized what?"

Sokka answered for me, "The other nations won't agree just to end the war. Even if they want ti to end they are gonna be fighting for a lot of other political reasons. From Pay backs, the fire colonies, hell DI am sure their is a bunch of displaced water benders. Not to mention you people Aang. You are the biggest person in the idea of vengeance. Even if you don't ask for anything, people will ask for you."

I nodded, "Not to mention the more ecological problems. The lose of forests, rampaging wildlife and spirits, and the imbalance of elements. The fire nation not only displaced a bunch of creatures by their mass industrialization. They also hunted down important keystone creatures."

They all understood the problem, "Even if we win, we would technically be no bodies with a story."

"Sokka got it in one. You may gather groups, gain power, and make friends. Everyone will still have alternative goals. Others will try to take that power and make a name for themselves. Conflict isn't one and done."

Katara sighed and then spoke, "Then what? I know you aren't telling us to give up. That would be stupid."

"Yeah it would be, hence I'm not." I sighed it was now time to explain all details of the people who were a part of the end of the war. One of which was ironically the Earth king who had no idea about any of this. i would need to explain all this again wouldn't I?
