Helplessness

After dinner, Carl Black came out of the restaurant holding Lisa's hand. They both got in the car and sat down. He looked at her and asked softly "Are you feeling better?"

She only nodded in response lowering her head. He felt heartache. He didn't know how to cheer her up. When he thought how helpless she might feel at that time, his blood boiled in anger. His grip around the steering wheel tightened. At that moment he wanted to beat Daniel Brooke to death. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. Without saying anything he started the engine and the car ran away very fast.

Lisa leaned back on the seat closing her eyes. She was feeling tired. She wanted to go home as soon as possible. She had no mood to talk. The journey was very quiet.

When they reached her apartment, she grabbed the car door handle and was about to open it. Just then Carl Black held her hand. She turned around her head and looked at him.
