Testing Quirks

Two small children could be seen running towards the quirk testing rooms, well one was being dragged to be exact.

Once they reached the room designated for them they huffed with their smalls bodies, "You wanna test our quirks?", the boy said with a smile except the girl was just staring at his face.

'So this is what Shoto looks like while genuinely smiling', Kaga thought to herself and clearly not hearing the boy in front of her.

"He-o"

"Hello?"

Snapping out of her thoughts, "Yes, did you say something?", she said only now showing interest in what the kid in front of her said.

"I said let's try our quirks!", he repeated while waving his hands on the face of Kaga and only stopped later.

Trying to see whether everything is the same as in canon she asks, "Mind demonstration your quirk?", and as she says that Shoto immediately activates his quirk to which burns his left and freezes his right.

Kaga witnessing it couldn't help but feel astonished seeing it, even though she has already watched countless Hero videos online, it is still amazing in person.

'Maybe he would be able to manipulate it better if he actually trains it instead of just adding firepower to it', she thought it through as this was what she didn't like from the anime. Everyone just seemed so focus on increasing firepower but not increase control.

*clap*

*clap*

Kaga gave her applause to the child, "I'll show you mine next", she exclaimed and immediately started activating hers. The moment she did she took inspiration from the numerous fanfiction she read and the key thing they all shared was imagination!

Kaga imagined something fairly easy as she didn't want to go out of control, so she imagined ice cubes revolving around her, next thing she knew the frozen mist emanating from her body hardened in shapes of blocks and started to revolve around her.

Shoto who saw this was shocked, 'She has an ice quirk too!', he thought and he already felt closer to her as she had a similar quirk to himself.

Kaga who was revolving the cubes around her stopped after a few minutes of it as it took a toll on concentration, 'I feel colder than usual and also a bit more tired', she thought but then immediately notice the sensation disappear slowly.

(The cold doesn't do anything to her, she just gets tired)

'Must be the regeneration, since it was a very vague wording so I guess it includes regenerate body heat', as she thought that she was elated for the fact that she only thought of it on her future wounds and not other things.

Kaga wanted to try using [Blood Break] and her [Tail Manipulation] out of curiosity but then remembered that there were too many eyes here, even though this was one of her family's hospitals.

In the end, she decided to just keep trying out her Ice abilities to see how well her imagination and control are so far, this time she imagined snow coming out of her palms and decided to point at the ground.

Shoto who was with Kaga was just watching his new friend make snow out of her palms and piling it on the ground, "Amazing!", he shouted as he looked at the mound of snow.

After thinking that she piled up enough snow she crouched to the ground and gathered some and shaped it into a ball. Then without warning, she threw the ball of soft snow into Shoto stunning him.

"Hahaha", she laughed silly at the fact that Shoto just stood there with a blank expression, "Your face was ve-POOF!", before Kaga could finish her sentence a ball of snow came right at her.

It was silent for a moment...not until she laughed evilly...'Boss music?', Shoto thought to himself as he shivered at her laugh.

*wooosh*

Kaga started conjuring balls of snow around her and didn't even bother making it with her hand anymore, and with a simple thought, the balls of snow flew towards Shoto immediately covering his clothes in snow.

"huff...huff...I won!", Kaga felt victorious after that short bout but felt tired after and just decided to lay on the snow mound herself.

Shoto too laid beside Kaga on the snow and used a bit of his fire to warm himself up, "Wanna be friends?", he asked with a smile on his face.

"Sure!", smiling at the thought that she finally had a friend her age. She could act like this for the sole reason of already embracing this life and not worrying about the previous as she too wanted to have a colorful childhood!

Meanwhile...

The parents outside the quirk testing room were smiling at the scene of their children playing with snow...except for the Father and Grandpa's of Kaga, 'He wants to steal my daughter/granddaughter from me!?', they collectively thought.

The mothers of the children, however, were only smiling at the scene, "Dear, look! Our daughter now made a friend!", Ayane exclaimed to her husband who was seething in anger within his mind already thinking his daughter was stolen from him.

*Pack!*

Ayane who was a fox was very sensitive to emotions so she could tell right off the bat what her husband was feeling, "They're just children! And plus, the child is kind so just enjoy the moment, okay?", 'smiling' at the statement she said.

"Hehe...sorry", he could only chuckle when he saw that 'smile' from Ayane, as that was the smile of 'Couch or bed?'.

[1 DAY LATER]

When it was time to leave, the two children waved goodbye at each other but not before asking their respective parents if they could visit each other's household, to which both Moms just agreed without letting the men talk.

"Bye!" "See ya!", the two children shouted to each other as they went into their car and even when the two were inside they just kept waving from the window until the two cars separated from each other's view.

On the ride home Kaga was extremely excited to now try out her quirks, "Mom, Dad, can you prepare me an outdoor training hall?", Kaga blurted out of the blue which the parents actually accepted easily.

Kaga was confused though she expected a bit of resistance, "Mom, Dad, what if I want to be a Hero?", though this time the inhabitants of the car were silent as being a Hero wasn't something they wanted for Kaga.

To them, they only studied in Hero Schools to be able to wield their quirks publicly and didn't pursue the Pro-Hero career since being a Hero brings you enemies.

And this is the main reason why Asakura Industries was able to stand on top without many villains targeting them since they do not seek enemies out.

"Kaga, Dear, let's see in the future and you're still young so who knows what you really want to be, okay?", this time the one who spoke was Grandma Kirita or the mother of Kaga's mom.

When Kaga didn't hear the instant answer she wanted her ear drooped low and her tail stopped swaying...but she understood that topics like these needed further thinking over.

Seeing Kaga's ear droop struck everyone mentally, but as adults, they needed to be firm on certain topics especially when it comes to the safety of the family.

The way home remained awkwardly silent and not like the usual boisterous one filled with laughter.

Upon arriving home Kaga immediately just went to her room as she felt a bit down during the ride, 'I have gone spoiled...hah...it's best for me to start thinking ahead I guess'

This was the thing Kaga has always been mulling over for the past years as she never once heard of any relative being a Hero but all were strong, just never a Hero.

'The main reason I chose MHA is to be a Hero...but it seems I'll need to do drastic measures', Kaga thought to herself. "Mom, Dad...sorry if I do something crazy in the future", she mulled to herself.

As she mulled to herself she began thinking of things she needs secretly, before she planned on gathering talented individuals for the family but now it seems she'd rather have them for herself.

"My situation? It's basically just like that fanfic, Gilgamesh in MHA, where the Lionheart family members didn't pursue becoming a hero but the MC there didn't seem to mind", she said softly.

'I guess I should train secretly, I have the powers to hide it anyway', she thought before falling asleep.
