Chapter 04

Elleiana's

"Hello?" I said when I received a call from an unknown number.

"Hey.." I heard a soft voice.

That voice...his voice...

"Who's this?" I asked.

"Don't you recognize my voice?" He said and chuckled.

I started tearing up...

"Hendrixx..?" I said and covered my mouth.

"Yes. It's me." I heard him sniffing.

"Go down." He added.

G-go what?!

"W-what?! Why? Where are you?" I asked.

"Outside your house." He answered.

"What are you doing there?! It's already late!" I said.

I heard him sighed.

"Because..."

"What?" I asked calmly.

"I-I want to see you."

I sighed deeply.

I just hope that both of us wouldn't end up crying.

"Okay. Wait for me. I'll go out." I said and ended the call.

I fixed myself first before going out.

"Hey...I missed you.." He said and would've hugged me, but...

I stopped him.

I miss you too, so much. That's what I want to say but this is not the right time for that.

The pain, the pain he gave me is still here...

"What are you doing here?" I asked coldly.

"I would like to talk to you.."

"We're already talking," I said sarcastically.

"Elle, I'm serious." He said.

"Fine. What do you want to talk about?"

"Us.." He said and looked straight into my eyes.

I frowned.

How can he say this? Did he forget what he did to me?!

"Huh?! What about us?!" I asked him.

"I...s-still..love y-you..." He said.

He's already crying.

"You still love...me? are you serious?" I asked sarcastically but couldn't stop my tears from falling.

"B-but why...why didn't you defend me from your parents? huh? why!?" I asked in tears.

"and...why did you leave without saying anything?"

"I... I didn't want to hurt you..." He said and cried.

"But you already did!" I said. Still crying.

"Shhh..." He said and hugged me.

We have been in that position for a long time...until I stopped crying...

"I'm sorry..but can we talk next time? just.. not now.."I said and forced a smile.

"But.." He insisted.

The sadness is obvious in his eyes...

"Please..." I begged him.

My eyes are starting to be teary again...

"Okay..but promise me..we will talk about this, next time." He said.

"Yes. I promise." I answered and smiled.

"Okay then...Goodnight." He said kissed my forehead.

I felt my tears dripping away but I wiped them immediately.

"Goodnight. Take care." I said and forced a smile.

As I entered the house, I couldn't help but cry.

I missed him so bad.....

"Shhh.."

I stopped crying when I felt someone caressing my back...

Kaidenn...

I hugged him tightly and cried again.

"Shhh...It's okay. I'm here." He said and I cried even more.

I am very lucky to have a brother like him.

"Thank you," I said and wiped away my tears.

He smiled at me.

"Do you want to eat something? I'll order." He said, still smiling.

"I want pizza and chicken!" I said happily as if I didn't cry too much earlier.

"Okay." He laughed.

After he ordered, we talked. We do this almost every day, eating at dawn.

This is how we bond. Eating at dawn. Watching movies together.

"How did you feel when dad left?" I suddenly asked.

He sighed and forced a smile.

"Of course I was hurt, but I didn't show it to you. Since he already left, I will now be the one to protect you and Mom. So I need to be strong." He said and smiled.

"Thank you," I said sincerely.

"I can do everything for you two,"

Sad to say, my dad, cheated. He left us for another woman.

I saw how my mom suffered, I'm amazed because she always finds a way to give us the things we need and we want.

My brother already finished college. He's a Doctor now, while I was a year before college.

I also want to be a doctor like him so I study hard.

"What course are you going to take in college?" He suddenly asked.

"Med," I answered.

He nodded and smiled.

Ever since I was a kid, I really wanted to be a doctor. I like watching movies about Medicine.

We heard the doorbell rang, maybe that's the food he ordered.

"I'll take it. Wait for me." He said and I just nodded.

While waiting, I turned on the TV, so we can watch while eating.

I chose our favorite movie.

"Let's eat!" He said and even raised the food bag, causing me to laugh.

We're eating quietly because we're both focused on the movie, even though we've watched it so many times.

"I'm so full." He said so I turned to him.

I suddenly laughed.

He frowned. "What?!"

"How can't you be so full, you almost finished everything," I said, still laughing.

"Tsh." He said and turned his back on me.

Oh no, he's now angry.

I already know that. One of the things he doesn't like is that you are teasing him. He hates that.

"I'm sorry," I said while holding back my laugh.

He just looked at me and turned around again. He's acting like a kid, huh.

He really is angry.

"Hey, I said I'm sorry," I said sincerely.

I heard him sigh and faced me.

"Fine. But promise me you won't do that again." He said seriously.

"Yes, promise," I said.

He nodded.

"Let's clean this up, you have classes tomorrow and I need to go to work." He said and stood up.

After we clean up, we went upstairs to sleep.

"Good night," I said while smiling.

"Mmm goodnight." He said and waved his hand.

I brushed my teeth first before doing my skincare.

Then I went to bed, I'm really sleepy.

But before I could fall asleep, my cellphone vibrated.

I received a message from an unknown number. Who's this?

From: Unknown

Let's meet tomorrow. After school. Save my number as well. See you ;)

I was surprised but I remembered that I had a promise to him that we would talk. So I did nothing but reply to him.

Compose Message

To: Hendrixx

Okay. Where will we meet?

Sent!

I already changed his name on my contacts so I wouldn't be surprised if ever he texts or calls.

After I sent it, he immediately replied.

How fast does he type?!

From: Hendrixx

At the mall. The one near your school :)

I immediately replied I didn't want to prolong the conversation because I'm really sleepy.

Compose Message

To: Hendrixx

Alright then, I'm really sleepy. Goodnight.

Sent!

After a few moments, he replied again.

From: Hendrixx

Goodnight. Sleepwell <3

I did not reply to him anymore because I was really sleepy. My eyes are already closing. I can't even see clearly.

I just put my phone on my bedside table and went to sleep.
