“ Yes mom ? “ I asked as I turned towards my mother . 


“ I’m so sorry that I was never there for your brother . “ she said, holding tight to her suitcase as she walked down in the living room towards the doorway . 


“ I’m not the one that needed to hear that mom . “ I muttered looking down on my feet as I stood up . 


“ I’m sorry . '' she said with a trembling voice to which I nodded . 


“ I love you Ellie . '' she whispered as she stood upright . “ I know mom . I love you too . “ I said as I looked up to her . 


“ Promise me you'll come visit me soon . " she said as she came forward with open arms . 


“ Of course mom . I promise . Safe travels . “ I whispered as I hugged her . 


“ Alright - see you soon . “ she said as she wiped her tears away and held her bag . “ See you soon mom . “ I said as she walked out .
