Chapter 13 - Auction Results and the Mysterious Owner

Xin Jin was almost too amazed by the quality of the jewelry he was now looking at that he could barely process it.

Before, when he had first seen the Dragon Blood Jade, He was impressed by it. However, the difference in quality was now like Night and Day. The stone was still its customary bright crimson red, but after being cut, shaped and polished, it now seemed to literally glow with magnificence.

And upon closer inspection, there even appeared to be some sort of warm pulse of energy that helped stabilize the Spirit Energy in the Dantian within close proximity.

Incredible! Unbelievable!

These were the loudest thoughts as his gaze returned to Gu Ling, upon which he could see that her smile was wider and she was apparently holding back some laughter after seeing his reaction.

Xin Jin awkwardly scratched the back of his head as he chuckled with slight embarrassment.

However, he quickly brought the wooden box into his hands before genuinely giving his thanks.

"Thank You, Auntie Gu." He said with a smile.

"You're very welcome, Young Master Xin." She replied respectfully with a small bow before taking her leave.

After closing the door, Xin Jin put the glistening jewelry in his storage ring before returning to his seat.

"Who was it?" Han Yi asked curiously with an expression than Xin Jin found kind of adorable.

"It was Madame Gu. She was simply bringing the items I had asked to be made out of the Jade." Xin Jin explained with a smile.

Both womens eyes lit up at his words.

However, since he hadn't presented it immediately, they calmed down a bit and watched as the number of Spirit Stones being bid became almost too shocking.

"5800!" The auction hostess called out as another bid was made.

'That's...'

Xin Jin took in a sharp breath as he heard the number echo through the hall.

'with 1 Spirit Stone being equal to 10k gold, that means the price is already...58 Million?!'

He could barely contain his excitement. His mind was buzzing and his heart raced.

less than 2 seconds later however, he nearly choked on air.

"5900!"

"6200!"

The last bid even shocking some of the crowd, let alone Xin Jin.

.....

*Snap*

The loud sound of an armrest being broken echoed inside Huo Shaoyangs private booth as he couldn't control himself anymore.

He stood up and threw his chair against the wall, shattering it completely.

His sudden and violent outburst made his guests from other Sects including those from the Northwind Ice Sect frown heavily.

Perhaps it was time for them to leave. or so they thought.

And why had Huo Shaoyang lost his cool? Well, quite a few things actually. Most of which involved Xin Jin.

However, the most recent reason is because the price of the Blood Jade surpassed his 6000 Spirit Stones budget. Of course he had some of his own, about 700, but that was most of his personal savings.

Unfortunately, He had to get this Blood Jade. He wasn't exactly sure why his father needed it so badly, but he did know for sure that if he failed here today, his own father may cripple his cultivation as punishment.

Huo Shaoyang gritted his teeth and bid again.

.....

"6700!" announced the Hostess.

Xin Jin, Luo Mei, and Han Yi watched with excitement as the number kept increasing.

"6900!"

"7100!"

"7400!"

After a few more minutes, only two bidders remained.

One being Huo Shaoyang and the other being the son-in-law of the Provincial Lord, Lin Yu.

"8400!" came the voice of the hostess.

There was a moment of silence at this time.

The hostess gazed around the auction hall and the 2000 guests present, even quickly gazing at the private boxes.

"8400 Spirit Stones going Once..."

Swept the hall again

"Twice..."

"Sol-"

Just as she was going to call the night to an end, another booth, Huo Shaoyangs, signaled a bid.

"8500 Spirit Stones!"

"Going Once...

Twice...

Sold to Booth #8!

Congratulations on your amazing win! Please wait for an attendant to see you." said the Hostess before she said her final words of the night "Thank you for coming everyone. I hope you enjoyed your evening."

She then gave a small bow before walking off stage. After which the red curtain fell.

Xin Jin was at a loss. He never imagined he would earn anywhere near 8500 Spirit Stones for the Dragon Blood Jade.

It was almost a preposterous amount.

When Xin Jin calculated his earnings, he nearly fainted.

85 Million Gold Taels. That was how much he just earned tonight.

Even major Sects and Noble Families would feel the pinch in this lower realm if they had to shell out that much in one night since even a small place like Sky City with its couple hundred thousand people only had a yearly tax revenue of 4.5-5 million Gold per year.

.....

Huo Shaoyangs hands were trembling.

He had won. That was true.

However, he had to sell or trade a lot of his personal things like Talismans, Weapons, and highly precious Alchemy Pills in order to get enough Spirit Stones from his friends.

Now that this was finally over, he could finally look for a way to vent his fury.

And he knew just the place.

With a wicked grin, he slincked into the hall with his bodyguards, one of whom was injured, and headed for Midnight Daffodil, the best Gentleman's Entertainment in Sky City where he planned on making someone's night absolutely miserable.

.....

"Here you are Young Master Xin." Gu Ling passed Xin Jin a new storage ring, this one with a space the size of a big warehouse, filled with shiny Spirit Stones.

"Thank You, Auntie Gu." He replied politely.

"If you do not mind, our Mistress would like to see you now." Gu Ling said to Xin Jin after exchanging a bit of small talk.

Xin Jin looked at Luo Mei who was standing back on the right and Han Yi who was on his left tying her sword around her waist with a sash.

When Xin Jin caught Luo Mei's eye, she nodded that it was okay.

Xin Jin smiled cheerfully before bringing her into his embrace and giving her a deep kiss that caused her to flush from her forehead to her neck as she wasn't expecting it so suddenly, and in front of others too.

After a few seconds, he let her go.
