Suddenly, as if struck by a bolt of electricity, Xin Jin came to a realization.
"Ah!" He shouted while face-palming, "This has to do with that asshat I met just before the auction started from the whatever Dragon sect?" he added while rubbing his glabela due to the sudden onset of a migraine.
"Asshat? what's that?" Asked Luo Mei as she joined Xin Jin on his other side and taking his right hand in hers, squeezing it gently with a light smile as if she was now completely unconcerned since the strength of the Dragon above Sky City was revealed to be lower than hers.
Xin Jin wasn't really sure how to convert the meaning of this particular earth insult in a way that made sense.
After a moment of thought, he stated plainly, "It's an insult that refers to someone who has their head so far up their own rear that their ass is essentially a hat." He explained in a way that sounded reasonable.
"Pfft...hahahaha! That completely describes Young Master Huo Shaoyang in every way!" Gu Xian'er couldn't control her fit of laughter after hearing such a thing.
It was perfect. Absolutely spot on.
"Oh? You know him?" Xin Jin asked while glancing at Gu Xian'er with a raised eyebrow.
"Indeed. I-"
However, The Great Flood Dragon, now annoyed after being kept waiting for a few moments interrupted their chat, "Brat Xin Jin, you have 5 seconds to appear, otherwise, don't blame me for being cruel!" Its booming voice shook the city once more.
"Sigh, I suppose we should go greet our guest." Xin Jin said with an exasperated tone, he then turned to gaze at Lu Qiáng,"Keep an eye on the house for a moment." He said with a flat tone, his expression now just as deadpan.
"1...2..-"
Before the Dragon even got to the next number in his count, 3 stunning figures appeared less than 20 meters from it.
The one in the center was a shockingly handsome young man, while the other two on either side were beautiful enough that they did not lose to Xin Jin at all in appearance.
"Greetings, esteemed guest. May I ask what has brought you to my doorstep, sir?" Xin Jin said respectfully, but not submissively, while wearing a stoic face and cupping his fists.
"So it's you then?" The flood Dragon narrowed its gaze at Xin Jin in a threatening manner as it studied him up and down.
"Do you acknowledge your guilt?" it continued after a moment, neither giving an explanation as to what it meant, nor why it was here and not Huo Shaoyang himself.
"...."
After a moment of pause, Xin Jin finally replied in a way that stunned the mighty Flood Dragon,"I do not. If that is all you were here for, then please forgive me not showing you out." He stated in a very cold manner.
The Flood Dragons eyes shot wide at the attitude of this mere early stage Level 2 Spirit Master.
"Audacious!" The Dragon roared while releasing its Draconian might, "You-!"
Suddenly, just as this Daemonic Beast was about to go on a rampage and destroy the Junior before it, it suddenly had a shiver run down its spine as it felt a piercing gaze fall upon it, along with a feeling it hadn't experienced in centuries, Fear!
If it were possible, the Flood Dragon would be covered in obvious goosebumps as its eyes darted to the one standing on the right side of Xin Jin.
'Peak Level Grandmaster!' it screamed in fear internally upon feeling the traces of icy killing intent that threatened to turn its blood solid.
In the next moment, the dark cloud of Daemonic Energy swirled around it like a vortex.
The moment the cloud dispersed, what was before the three was no longer the nearly 100 meter Flood Dragon, but a distinguished looking gentleman who appeared to be in his mid to late forties with Navy Blue hair that was shoulder length and was tied behind him.
He had an appearance that was reminiscent of a court scholar, he had a medium length goatee, a pair of glasses that rested on the bridge of his nose, and wore dark blue and silver robes, while carrying a horsetail whisk in his right hand.
"Ahem" the Dragon cleared its throat,"Apologies, Young Xin, I have been rude. I was in a hurry, and therefore did not notice my behavior was inappropriate." He said with an awkward smile as he tried to back peddle on his earlier attitude.
"Of course, I understand. Sometimes what we say and mean can sound contradictory, Mr..." Xin Jin stated with a much calmer expression, even having the corners of his mouth upturn slightly.
"Ah, where are my manners, I am Dong Zǐmò, Grand Elder of the Holy Dragon Fire Sect." the Flood Dragon introduced himself with a slight bow.
"So it's Senior Zǐmò." Xin Jin replied amicably.
"Would you care to join us for some tea in the main hall?" he then asked, hoping to use it as an opportunity to get to the bottom of this headache.
"Yes, please." Dong Zǐmò replied with a nod, now very glad that he had chosen to work out the issue peacefully, for now at least.
Xin Jin, Luo Mei, and Gu Xian'er then took the lead as the group of four made their way to the Grand Hall for receiving guests.
Once inside, Xin Jin took the main seat that was on a slightly raised platform with his two women sitting on either side.
Dong Zǐmò sat on the seats meant for guests, just slightly lower and to the right side of the hall.
Just after they sat down, Han Yi, Lu Qiáng and Lu Wén entered the hall as well.
Lu Qiáng stood nearby Dong Zǐmò's seat with his hand on the hilt of his blade, wearing an intense gaze that showed that he was ready for any situation.
Lu Wén took the seat opposite of Dong Zǐmò on the left side of the hall.
Meanwhile, Han Yi had entered the hall with a fresh pot of tea, and poured each person a cup before taking her place right behind Xin Jin.
"So, to what do we owe the visit, Senior Zǐmò?" Xin Jin asked before blowing on his tea.
"Well..." Dong Zǐmò said with a bitter chuckle,"You could say, I was sent by Young Master Huo to warn you."
"You mean threaten, right?" Gu Xian'er then replied from her seat with a nonchalant look on her beautiful face.
