We arrived at the village only to find it long abandoned. At least these beast know who is superior but apparently not enough to know they can't run from their masters.
"Those dame Elves! How dare they make us chase them!" My second in command yells has he kicks a door off it hinges.
I raise my eyebrows "Even the lowest beast knows when to run but I can't say I entirely disagree with you either."
I sighed. If only they hadn't irritated my men and I by running. I would have shown them great mercy. We would only have required all their people to serve us and taken what we came for.
"What a pity." I whisper to myself before raising my hand to silence the grumbling of my men. "When we find them kill off all the men and pick a slave to bring back with you. Feel free to have as many as you want but leave the best and that silver eyed Elf for the Baron."
My men erupt in cheers, their earlier grumbling forgotten as they rally to hunt down our prey and march further into the forest. We will lay claim to our reward and complete our mission to the Baron.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been over a week since we started out on our journey. I can finally hold up my head all on my own. Not sure if that's normal for this world but I really don't care.
As I am feeling proud of myself I suddenly heard a voice in my head " Host has completed their first mission: Hold up their head on their own. Awarded 5 exp."
I jump at the sudden sound, I know I've heard this before. It was during my birth. I furrow my brow as I ask "What are you?" I say it more to myself, not really expecting to be answered back
"This is the system bestowed to those born with sacred Elven eyes. Warning, system can be stolen if Hosts eyes are used as an ingredient in a ritual that has been developed by humans."
'__'
"I don't think I want you."
"Host may choose to give up the system."
"Really!" my eyes shine brightly with hope only to quickly shift to horror as the system further explains.
"Yes, Host only needs the gouge out your own eyes and gift them to another. However, if you don't gift the eyes to another then they will turn to dust and regenerate in their rightful place immediately."
The systems robotic voice remains steady as it continues to describe the process and give tips on how to extract my own eyes with the least amount of damage. "STOP!! I don't want to know anymore so please stop talking!"
"Understood." Just like that, a blissful silence once again reigns in my head. I sit enjoying the silence but it doesn't last long.
"Host has gained exp for the first time. Please say status to view your information."
I sigh with frustration as my peace is ruined. "Fine, if it will make you stay quiet. Status."
Name: Yue Akari
Race: Moon Elf
Age: 12 Days
Title: Sacred Child of the Moon
Level 1 (5 exp /10 exp)
HP: (10/10) MP: (200/200)
Strength: 1 (infant)
Dexterity: 1 (infant)
Agility: 0 (Can't walk yet)
Wisdom: 20 (Adult)
Intelligence: 40 (Adult)
Skills: Babys Cry (max); Good Memory (Level 8); Language Mastery (Level 2)
(Locked Functions: Level too low)
I can understand stats for the most part. It's likely that I will raise the first three stats as I grow and with hard work which makes sense since I am still a new born. However, I shift to a deadpan expression as I start looking over my Skills.
Baby's Cry: Your cry can be heard at a distance and will perfectly convey your needs to those caring for you.
"Really. Was it really necessary to make that a skill, of all things?"
"Proficiency reached the required level to become a skill. System automatically updated to fit Host's current skill set."
Sigh, "Alright, whatever. At least no one else can see the system. How embarrassing." I continue reading the descriptions of my other skills.
Good Memory: You have the memory of an advance adult. To improve this skill you must use skill point received by leveling up or completing missions.
Language Mastery: You have begun to learn languages at a young age, showing much promise. Level up by learning or using skill points to increase your comprehention of different languages.
Current Languages: Elven (Level 5: Basic), Human (Level 9: Almost perfected)
"Why human? Did it follow me to this world from my old one?" I ask the system as I sense a commission for the villagers at the front.
"Hosts skills from their previous life will lowly assimilate with current life as Host's body ages and level increases. Human language is level 9 to account for diffences in word choses and the current world's language development. Locked Functions will become available upon Host's first Level up. Level ups can be achieved by either completing missions or defeating enemies."
"Good to know. How do I get missions?" Since I'm still a baby I need missions in order to gain exp.
"Host only needs to focus on a task and if it meets requirements set by system then a mission will be generated. Warning, as body age and level increases, requirements for mission creation will become stricter."
That makes sense, after all if I keep setting missions like raising my head that wouldn't do me any good.
I am still focusing on the system when the commotion at the front becomes bigger. I look up to see the Village Chief makes his way towards us.
"Our neighboring village is in sight. Come let's go to the front."
My mother nods at him as She walks down from the cart. I never noticed before but most females are half a head shorter then the males. Some are even shorter then that and very petite.
"System, why are the female Elves smaller and more petite then the males?"
"Like with most races, Moon Elf females are made to be small, light, and compact while the men are bigger and have greater natural strength. Moon Elf women are made to have incredible speed and in crisis have large bursts of strength. Moon Elf males are made to be especially strong and have equally incredible stamina, allowing them to take on a great deal of attacks without falling."
So the men are born tanks and the women are born assassins. That's a pretty good combo to be honest. One takes the attention and the hits while the other sneaks up behind and deals the finishing blow.
As the system finishes it's explanation we arrive at the village entrance where the guards allow us in and direct us to this village's Chief.
