Twin boys undergoing traditional initiation to adult hood
Robin and David finished their examination their mothers were invited to the closing ceremony in Kericho school Robin ran excitedly with the letters in their hands back home.
"Here are the letters from our school teacher," Robin said.
Sandy received the letter and opened it. Maggy rushed with a letter in his hand she saw Sandy with the same letter and opened it in haste.
"It's an invitation for a closing ceremony," Sandy said.
"I think the boys performed well," Maggy said.
"Yes I guess so most definitely," Sandy said.
"But I don't care if my boy performed well or not I love him," Sandy said.
"Me too what matters is knowing life skills," Maggy said.
"But the twin is very wise I know they have a great future, I didn't know that one time I will be having a wise boy around me," Maggy said.
"If someone takes them away from me I will skin him alive," Sandy said.
"Me too I am capable of killing if anyone dared touch my boy," Maggy said.
"We have an elephant in the room how to separate them when we are parting either resigning from a job or retiring" Sandy explained.
"Don't worry with time solution will emerge" Maggy said.
"The closing day is going to be on eighth November we have to request to be off duty," Maggy said.
"We need to see the director of the hospital but don't dare tell him that it's closing day for the twin boys" Maggy advised.
"That is true that is the time we will know if he still remembers about the twin boys adopted by the hospital under our care," Sandy said.
"You are right we need to see him today to ask him to give us off duty on closing day" Maggy suggested.
"But what reason are we going to give him for us to be given off duty at the same time?" Sandy asked.
"We are going to tell him that we are going to attend a refresher course in town" Maggy reiterated.
"That is the best idea" Sandy retorted.
They prepared to go to Director's office they prepared food for the twin boys and place them at the dining table and went to the director's office.
They reached the director's office Maggy knocked on the door.
"Come on in," Director said.
They both entered the office director looked at them in surprise.
"Is there any problem?" Director asked.
"No not at all we came to see you in a very important matter," Maggy said.
The director smiled in relief.
"Thank God there is no major problem" Director reiterated.
"I see a letter on the table what is it for?" Maggy asked.
"It's a transfer letter I am going to Kijabe hospital starting next year in a month" Director retorted.
"So soon you've been a blessing to this Kericho hospital," Sandy said.
"That is true but it's a policy of the ministry of health to transfer long service staff in any hospital in Kenya" the director responded.
"Even you are no exception your letters of transfer will be sent next week you served here over fifteen years," Director said
Sandy and Maggy were very happy to hear that since they are going to take the twin boys away and no one will claim them.
Maggy and Sandy looked at each other.
"Is there anything we need to clear that belongs to anyone or the hospital?" Sandy asked.
"Nothing may be hospital equipment that you are using and the house you need to make sure they are in good condition," Director said.
Maggy and sandy laughed in happiness.
"Tell me the reason you are here," Director said.
"We are here to request permission to go to refresher course conducted in town on eighteen this month," Maggy said
"You should not be asking the permission you should only organize who should be on duty on that day and go" Director advised.
We wish you well at Kijabe hospital we are looking forward to where we are going to transfer to" Maggy said.
"Thanks for that I wish you well too," Director said.
Maggy and Sandy went out of the office quickly they thought that the director will call them and ask them about the boys.
"Let's hurry we are so lucky the director is being transferred and also we are going on a transfer," Maggy said happily
They reached their house they met their twin boys eating their food they were very emotional Robin realized.
"Mum is there any problem you are so emotional," Robin asked.
"My boy nothing we are happy that you are closing school very soon and I know you will be at the top of the class" Sandy retorted
"That is true mum but the examination was very hard, especially the mathematics paper" Robin responded.
"That is true science paper was the hardest so to mathematics," David said.
"I know you boys are genius you've been number one always," Maggy said.
"I have news to break for you boys," Sandy said
The boys became so attentive.
"We talked with your grandfather about your initiation over the December holiday he said you too are going to be initiated immediately after the closing of the school," Maggy said.
The boys jumped in happiness and run around the house their mothers laughed
