Ch.13

Stopping in an open field full of nothing but grass I believe I have made it to the center, looking around I saw some medium size monsters busy fighting one another over several carcasses of what looked to be smaller size monsters. Seeing as how both monsters were busy fighting one another I decided to test out [ Minx ] by simply running at them and striking them from the back.

As I get closer to the nearest one I slow down my pace to not catch the beast's attention and as I come into range I strike down my down on the monster's back. In doing so the thing let out a loud shriek before quickly turning its attention backward, but before it could spot me I ran the opposite way in which its head was approaching and use the medium size grass to cover my presence.

Unable to find the source of its assault the beast turn its focus back to its original target, blocking the attack that the other monster launched when it thought an opportunity was available. Seeing as how the monster I wounded was now struggling a bit base on its now obvious slower movement and bleeding I turned my attention to the other monster and prepared myself to approach it from behind.

Once I managed to position myself at the back without the beast knowing my presence I steady my breathing before finally running at the beast's back, with both hands on the sword I strike the beast twice, one at its right shoulder and one at its left tendon located behind the knee. Almost immediately the beast tried to find the source of its attacker from the back and spotted me, now angry the beast tried shifting its body to run towards me but because of the attack previously its movement was slow and sluggish. As a result, the beast instead fell forward due to the cut on its tendon giving its original opponent an opportunity to pounce on its back and started ripping apart back.

Blood was spilling from both parties and one started screaming loud while the other was too busy knawing the flesh of its opponent giving me a chance to cleanly cut down on the first beast's neck without much resistance. Finally, I made my way to the down beast as it screams loudly before I slash the back of its neck killing it.
