“Why did you save me?” she blurted out. “Shouldn’t you be happy if I die? I betrayed you! You should be mad at me, not treating me like this!”

Lars trapped her face in his hand, forcing her chin up as her teary eyes aligned with his. “Listen carefully, Eira. Yes, I was hurt and upset when I found out that you left just like that. You not only betrayed me, but you also betrayed the entire unit. You put everyone at risk with your selfish recklessness.”

Shame filled her.

“But you are still the woman I love, and I promised to protect you. No matter what happens, I will always protect you.” He released her, rising to his feet with her in his arms. “Don’t think that it means that I have forgiven you. I am still very angry with you.”

She opened her mouth to speak but suddenly, a pulse fluttered against her chest. 

“What’s wrong?” Lars demanded when she turned pale, her eyes dropping to her chest. 

Fingers trembling, Eira wondered if she was doing the right thing. She had to know what this ‘cub’ was. How attached was it to her body? She touched its soft, smooth back – like warm velvet. Her hand pulled back when it twitched. 
A soft squeak startled them both. 

Gingerly, she returned her hand to its back, and this time, she connected with it. Behind the pale pink lids, its eyeballs shifted around before they opened and stared into her own. 

{Mommy.}

“Oh, fuck me.” Eira fainted for the first time in twenty-five years.

"After relocating to Ataxia, Eira Ulva joined unit six to destroy predators alongside her love interest, Captain Lars Verhelst and her comrades. Using her ability, Eira experienced the beauty of new nations and gained a predator partner, Xue Long — a dragon hybrid. Soon, it became clear that all their missions were connected to a sinister plot masterminded by an unknown villain — one that included human experimentation — possibly to create super soldiers surpassing kill hunters. If so, was the Ataxian government guilty by association?


Eira's attempt to reconnect with Lars also took a complete downturn. Before they could reconcile, she lost her memories of him after becoming injured in the Ataxia Intra-Unit Battle. It seemed someone tried to sabotage the games. This led Lars to realize his true feelings for her.


On their latest mission, Eira and Lars escorted Kaiser Ruff, a weapons researcher to Geoldran Island where they encountered the enemy. During the battle, Lars nearly died but they managed to escape with their lives intact. After the emotional ordeal, our lovebirds finally confessed their love and consummated their relationship. Except, Lars didn't know Eira planned to leave Ataxia and hunt down the clawtail that killed her parents, possibly never to return."
