Chapter 2

Maria's POV:

That evening as I was in my room watching Netflix,I got a notification on my phone.It was a message from an unknown number saying,"Hi gattina"which freaked out me out so I asked who it was and was relieved when he replied with Lorenzo.And that how I started to dig my own grave.We begin to talk a lot on phone and meet in person,we would go to movies dates or just hang out in parks and cafes and in the meanwhile Lorenzo shifted to the apartment next to mine.I also became increasingly afraid of being alone as the feeling of someone watching me begin to increase and the only time I felt safe was in Lorenzo's presence so I would spend more time at his apartment that in mine.As time went on I started to trust Lorenzo with my own life and decided to tell he how I had a feeling someone was always watching me and how I only felt safe around him.What he had said that time made my heart fill with so much warmth that all the previous feelings of darkness from him had vanished from my mind.He had at that time promised that he would always be with me by my side,oh if only I had known at that time.

After his promise I introduced him to Adrian who didn't seem to like Lorenzo a bit.He told me how Lorenzo had this dark and evil glint in his eyes when he was looking at me but at that time I was so blinded that I had a huge fight with my best friend who was only trying to look out for me.I started to avoid Adrian at university and if he even tried to talk to me I would ignore him.Whereas Lorenzo had confessed him love for me and asked me to be his girlfriend to which I replied with yes as I had started to fall deep for him.

I had also applied and gotten accepted for an internship at NYX as Lorenzo had told me he worked there and it was also a reason he could afford the apartment.Lorenzo had told only a few things about himself like he was an orphan and how his life was filled with struggles but he had not told me details so I respect his wishes to keep parts of his tragic past hidden as I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable.I also only knew that he worked in NYX not his position there.

Time skip,

Life was amazing,I had gotten my degree and the same day Lorenzo had proposed to me.I was over the moon with happiness I had told my parents about Lorenzo at first my father didn't agree but finally he had agreed to our marriages.We had decided to get married in USA and that after our honeymoon,move to Spain.I was sad that I could not help dad in the company but wanted to stay with the love of my live.I also was really sad that I could not have included Adrian in my happiness but I was still made at him for the way he talked about Lorenzo so I wanted to prove him wrong.

"I thought I was getting butterflies but it was really something telling me to run away."
