Chapter 20

After all the work and training, Airen invited Muren to a private conversation and immediately suggested adopting another child.

She told him that this would make her completely happy and that it would take all her depression away.

Although Muren had been so desperate of searching for the solution to make her happy again, her suggestion made him quite hesitant.

After their long and intimate conversation, Muren ended up giving in and decided to permit her opinion.

According to their documented papers years ago, they were allowed to have at least 2-3 children, therefore it was not a problem to adopt another one. The whole family went to the orphanage house and met with the priestess along with the little boy that Airen had always been looking out for.

He turned out to be only 2 years younger than Coen.

Toluon was the child's original name, but soon had been replaced to Toren to fit with their family. They returned home completely satisfied.

Toren was a little shy boy, but once they started talking about him and made him feel warm and comfortable, he soon turned a bit chatty. He was bright and cheerful.

Having a younger brother made Coen so much happier too and Muren was finally assured that he had not regretted his choice to approve of his wife's suggestion.

It was a wonderful idea after all, he thought.

When they were finally home, Coen excitedly took the opportunity to tour his new little brother around the village and their household.

The couple had informed about their new child to avoid any later complications about his identity.

Airen cooked for their little celebration and they all gathered at the table to eat the sumptuous foods. It was their first meal together as a complete and happy family.

Toren immediately blended in with them because of his smart remarks and gestures.

They were all glad that he had been invited with them.

Coen and Toren would play outside at the public park, looking extremely happy as brothers. They would hop around, chase each other, build sandcastles together, and hunt for insects.

Toren was also invited to the underground organization, but Airen refused to let him join the training yet because he is too young.

She would only permit it after he had also turned 10.

And so, Toren would watch his father and brother preparing for what seemed like a brutal brawl. He would also listen to the valuable lessons and useful information as if they were head starts before he would join them 2 years later.

Toren had also joined sleeping with Coen at the floor with only the mat, but they were content with it.

One peaceful night, when things have settled down because of their new member of the family, the lovers felt so romantic that they have simultaneously entered the other world.

It has been a while since they have visited the flowerbeds that seemed to be immortally swaying and blooming despite their ephemeral appearances. Like the old times, Muren and Airen danced with the song of wind and they laughed and talked and swayed.

They were, once again, at cloud nine.

Muren felt so ecstatic to be able to return to their traditional romantic site where things have all started.

This was where the source of his bliss was rooted from.

Whilst having the time of their lives, Airen suddenly stopped dancing with him when she noticed something peculiar – something that caught her eye in an instant. Muren looked behind him to glance at what his wife was gazing at and saw someone else other than them at the distant flowerbed.

It seems like a little boy was sleeping peacefully.

When they went to the roses, they were surprised to see Toren in a deep slumber over that particular flowerbed.

They have always known that world as a secret and impenetrable by other's physical reality, so they wondered how their child had come there effortlessly.
