Chapter 116

After cleaning up everything he had used, he went to the bedroom and lay down on the soft bed.

The blankets and pillows were cool across the skin and the bed was spacious enough for him to splay out comfortably. He plodded through the foyers and rested until he was satisfied.

At the end of the day, he thought that he wanted that kind of life.

Toren grew more and more envious of what other people were experiencing when he had always been falling beneath places.

That night, he returned to the basement.

After that comfortable and luxurious lifestyle he had for a day, he felt sick and disgusted with the place he was staying in.

Suddenly, he wondered how he survived each day staying in a pungent, dimmed place like that.

It was horrible; the stark contrast emphasized the two worlds he had been trying to choose from. It suddenly became no question which one he wanted to pick.

His growing desire became uncontrollable and uncontainable to keep within the cages of his flesh. He hurriedly travelled to the otherworld the next night to meet Airen and agree with the deal.

He decisively told her that he can put up being her possession if he could obtain the offer she was trying to give.

This put her in utter bliss.

She smirked and nodded, "You made the right decision, darling."

"You will take care of me, right?"

"Of course, I will. Leave everything to me and you can have all that you desire."

And so, Toren's soul was sold off. A little ceremony had commenced between the two of them.

He had such ideas when he read from the journals at the library back then.

He knew about some tiny rituals and processes and the kiss. Her kiss. They both drank the celestial fluids quietly and calmly, yet it felt like a storm had brewed from that point.

The world felt spinning around, Toren thought.

At the back of his mind, he was still asking himself if he was doing the right thing.

But then, a clashing heart would ask if he wanted to return to that dirty basement underneath. He definitely did not want to live like that again. Hiding in the shadows, succumbing into darkness, and relinquishing his sanity to the recesses.

He did not want to be inside those sufferings any longer.

Toren heard some incomprehensible words that were recited like an ode from Airen's lips.

The words seemed to have been rooted from a familiar song that he was beginning to forget.

It was supposed to be something memorable.

He thought that he knew about those words, but could not seem to come up with anything. He was beginning to lose his mind too.

The world blurred into a spinning nothingness. And when everything felt like falling apart, Airen cupped his face. Her fragrance revived all the dead things inside of him.

He felt like he was getting resurrected from somewhere.

Right then, she gave him a passionate kiss. He closed his eyes and felt all his sensations clashing to chaotic uproar. Bliss exploded like a volcano from every part of his flesh. It was tantalizing and insane. He forgot everything else but that moment. And despite a looming and gushing nervousness brought by an omniscient eye's intruding, he had no strength to go back anymore.

Toren knew about it – the sensation he felt when someone was looking through him beyond that place.

It was definitely his brother.

But then, the world turned black.
