A Road In The Halloween Kingdom

Chapter 94: A Road In The Halloween Kingdom

Making out of the woods, Junk was able to carry April in his arms.

She had passed out. She had been through a little too much, and understandably so. She had impregnated twice in the span of a day or two. Once in the mountain, and the second time by him next to bonfire. The fact that the half-human, half-demon, had impregnated her twice so fast that he put two babies in her. This resulted in taking a toll on her. Affecting her so much that she couldn't walk by herself or stay awake for too long after escaping, slipping through the fingers of the pig monster. Lord Monsoon was still searching for them in the woods. Dark clouds, buzzing with electricity, could still be seen above the tall trees behind them. The Minotaur never looked back when he did carry out of the woods and took the road. While unconscious, the naked April was holding and hugging her new bow she had been given by Junk. She was hugging it, and she had the arrows-filled quiver in her back. She was all set. The elvish ranger had become an archer again. Junk began voyaging on the road of the Halloween kingdom… Trekking in hope to bring April somewhere safe. Or simply a little safer than the foot of the mountain where they camped or the woods where they chased by Monsoon. There was a cold wind blowing all around them as they took the road. The wind was making the trees with the Autumn colors moved softly. The trees were of different colors… Red… Yellow… Orange… The leaves were blowing in the woods, shifting around in the air and crawling a little all over the road that Junk had decided to take…

Junk walked for days on that cursed road… During all the time, April never woke up. She was still unconscious. She was still alive. She was still breathing, but she never woke up during the voyage. Junk was afraid she was going to die, but continued believing in her. He gave her water every day. Tried feeding her as well, but that part didn't work as much as simply giving her water. He couldn't feed her, unfortunately, but she was still alive. She was still with him.

Three days after leaving the woods, Junk finally found something on the road. He saw something in the far distance. There was something waiting for him on the horizon. There were a couple of houses. There was a small town on the horizon. There were people there. Meaning that there was hope. Junk wasn't exactly the most hopeful guy in the world… Yet, he felt like there was some hope for him to finally get April some help. That was all that mattered to him at this time. Getting April somewhere safe. Getting help. Doing everything he could to protect and save her. Without any warning, the Minotaur made his way into town, uninvited. People… Villagers began turning around and looking at him. Worried. Men and women. They didn't know how to feel about a monster carrying a young woman. A monster carrying a beautiful, and unconscious elvish woman. Now, that was not something they would see every day.

To be more accurate, Junk was no monster.

He was only a young man wearing a metallic and organic demonic armor that just happened to look quite monstrous and creature-like.

Junk was allowed to wear such armor since he was part demon on top of being human.

Slowly walking into town, Junk made it to a well, located at the center of the village. He stopped there. Continued carrying April in his strong, but tired arms. The villagers slowly gathered, all around him. None of them spoke to him. They were too scared and confused. They spoke among each others, whispered and gossiped about what they thought of this scene. The Minotaur was too tired to say anything to them. He didn't know what to say, really. He was already, fully prepared for them to begin rioting against and chasing out of their town. He didn't want to harm anyone, of course, but how could he possibly convince them of the contrary? In his mind, they most-likely already thought that he was responsible for hurting his innocent, young woman with the heavily, pregnant belly. It was difficult for them to imagine that he was a good boy, even though he hadn't done anything bad so far, following entering their modest, little town. It was silent for the longest time. No villagers made any move after gathering around Junk. The first one who made any form of move among the villagers was an old man. He stepped toward the Minotaur. Walked with a cane. He was wearing old and dirty clothes. He looked like he could be the ancient one of the village or something like that. He was weak. He had trouble walking, but he was brave. Courageous. He never felt like he was scared of the Minotaur.

"Son. How can we help you?" the old man directly asked.

"I need help… I…" on the verge of collapsing, he tried asking him for help, but wasn't exactly certain how to do just that…

"Tell me," the old man interrupted him. "Did you hurt this young woman?" he asked her. Not suspecting him. Simply asking.

"No. I would never do something like that. She needs help."

"I never thought you could hurt her. I simply wanted you to say it for the others here…" the old man referred to the other villagers. The ancient one smiled at him.

Junk delicately dropped April on the ground…

… Doing so right before collapsing on the opposite side of her, so he wouldn't fall on top of her.

Later, Junk woke up in a bed.

A nice and warm bed.

He was alone in this bedroom.

Junk was still tired, and his face messed up because of Lord Monsoon's attack days ago, but he was already feeling a bit better than he did before collapsing upon entering this remote and nameless, village.

He knew he was supposed or was expected to get up, he was still tired and wounded, it hurt him to move and try to get up, but he still did it. He opened the door to this bedroom, came out of the room, didn't see anyone in the corridor. Found another door. Opened it,

Inside, he found April, lying down in a bed. Conscious at last. She smiled when she saw Junk again. The pregnant belly was gone. She was no longer pregnant. Meaning that she had without a doubt given birth to the multiple demon souls she had growing and evolving in her belly while her lover was resting.

"Hey, Junk! You woke up!"

April wasn't alone in the room.

The ancient one was here with her.

He turned around and smiled to Junk.
