Welcome home

Cal POV

I walk up the front steps with Tobias and flinch as the door is thrown open.

"Welcome home. I'm Sander, your father. It's nice to meet you."

He looks unsure as if he is debating on hugging me or shaking my hand. Thankfully he extends his arm which I softly smile at. He takes the hint and puts his hand in his pocket. I look up at his face and notice that we have the same eyes except his gray looks more sparkling than ominous.

"Come in and I'll introduce you to the boys."

I walk in the tall door and see five guys lined up on the wall. I almost laugh at how military like it looks. I notice how they all have dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. The blue isn't like the normal eye color. They look like the sparkling waters in the Bahamas or some paradise. They all appear straight faced with the occasional smile. Only one appears to be mad and I go ahead and make my guess on who that is. Sander goes down the line introducing them all. They all nod at me not saying anything until we get to Caspian.

"Welcome home, sis."

He gives me a small smile that I can't help but mirror. I can already tell he will be my favorite. I internally cringe. I can't have favorites. I'm not going to get close to any of them. They don't want me, and I don't want them. I just want all of this to be over.

Sander eventually leads me to the floor I'll be staying on. There are six bedrooms total meaning that I share the floor with the guys. Don't get me wrong, I'm plenty pleased with just a closet space, but I just don't want to be close to them. He points out whose room is whose. My room is next to Pyrrhus' (yay me) and across from Silas'.

"So do you need me to bring in any bags?"

I look over to Sander and shake my head.

"Tobias bought me some stuff. It's in the duffle bag."

I point down to the small bag in my hands. He looks confused but quickly nods his head.

"I'll get the boys to take you shopping."

Before I can decline, he pushes open my door and I feel my jaw drop. This is the biggest room I've ever seen. It's basically the size of the house I shared with mom. The walls are a pale gray and in the middle sits a big bed with a white comforter. Everything is plain and clean contrasting to the filth I lived in over the past nine years.

"Sorry, it's so plain. When you go shopping, you can buy anything you want to personalize it."

I shake my head at him.

"It's perfect. Thank you."

He clears his throat before turning around and leaving me alone in my new room. Maybe I can enjoy this for a few days before I get out of here.

Sander POV

I look down at the small girl in front of me. Her hair is just like her mother's, but everything else comes from me. Her face looks like my mother's and her eyes are an exact replica of mine. I can't help but notice how small she is. She seems too frail to be fifteen, which I learned from Tobias. That seems to be the only thing we know about her. Her name is Cal and she is fifteen. Of course, I know about her mother, but she didn't tell me that. She doesn't seem to talk all that much. I look over at her marveling the view of her room. Her eyes are so wide and full of light it nearly brings tears to my eyes. I excuse myself before stepping into the hallway. Closing her door, I turn around to face my sons. Zephyr and Caspian seem pleased with the new addition to the family. I'm sure Rai is too, but he rarely shows emotion. He got that from me. I know Silas could care less, but maybe having a younger sister will help him grow up. Pyrrhus is still as pissed as when I told him about her. Hopefully he gets himself in check before I have to.

"Dad, is she okay? She looks kinda small. I mean I know we are big, but she still looks too small."

I smile at Caspian. He's right, we are big. Rai is the tallest at 6'4" with all of trailing after with Silas being the shortest at 6'0". We are all broad and muscular making a lot of people appear rather small, but Cal seems to be even smaller. I wonder where she came from. I'll have to get Tobias to look into it.

Once I assure them she's fine, we make our way downstairs to prepare for dinner. Tobias is going to stay the night so he doesn't have to drive back right away. Once the table is set and the food is ready, I send Rai to go fetch Cal. I can't

wait to have our first family dinner together.

Rai POV

I take the stairs two at time til I get to the third floor. I can't believe that I have a little sister. At first, I was mad that Dad had an affair, but once I heard the rest I was okay with her being here. I feel like there is more to her than what meets the eye and I want to figure out what it is. Hopefully she has some abilities so we don't have to worry about her being afraid of us. I knock on the door before I open it. I watch as she flinches, but she quickly recovers. Why does she feel the need to flinch?

"Dinner is ready."

She only nods at me as she follows me down the stairs. She doesn't say a word the whole time, which is fine with me. I don't enjoy small talk all that much. I'm a few steps ahead of her when I reach the dining room. I hear arguing so I peek in and notice Pyrrhus and Dad talking. I see Pyrrhus hands go up in flames causing me to turn around and grab Cal. She cowers down and protects her head. Seeing her being so afraid pisses me off. Who dared to hurt her?

"Cal?"

She only shakes her head at me looking towards the floor. I sigh and run my hands through my short hair.

"Dad and Pyrrhus are arguing. I didn't want you to see that. Sorry."

This time she looks up at me.

"Why? You don't have to protect me from anything."

Her voice shakes despite the furious look on her face.

"Learn your place, kid. You will respect dad and us. We are your older brothers."

"We might share DNA, but that doesn't make us family."

I let her storm past me and bust into the dining room. I didn't hear anymore arguing so I know she's fine, and I also didn't know how much longer I could control myself. I feel the static in the air as little bolts of lightning shoot between my fingers. Once I'm settled down, I head in after her knowing this dinner is going to be hell.
