A lower-tier beast is comparable to an animal except that they have their own traits and abilities. While middle-tier beasts are the same as lower-tier beasts, their bodies are comparable to the peak of qi gathering. The higher-tier beasts are comparable to those in the Foundation realm. And lastly, is the peak tier beast, which is comparable to a Golden Core realm. But there is also a beast that evolves. However, people in this realm think of them as other races as they can communicate and are capable of learning.
Jiang Chen took a break after ingesting the blood of thousands of venomous snakes before continuing hunting.
Without noticing the passage of time, Jiang Chen comes to a halt while inspecting the beast he had hunted.
"Now, how am I going to bring this? I didn't realize I'd already hunted this many monsters," Jiang Chen said after learning he'd already hunted approximately 20 beasts. He didn't think he'd be capable of hunting; only after gaining combat experience did he end up with a large number of beasts. He didn't mind having a large number of beasts because he knew they were edible and he could sell them if he had too many, but the problem for him is how he's going to bring them; he'd be sure to attract attention as soon as he entered the eastern grey gate.
Jiang Chen prefers not to attract attention because he knows that the only thing he can gain from it is trouble. But he also didn't want to waste such resources, so he pondered.
"Nana, do you have any idea how I'm going to bring this without drawing attention to myself?" Jiang Chen couldn't help but ask for assistance.
"No, not right now, unfortunately," Nana said, feeling sorry for him. "While you can put it inside the land of gods, there is no guarantee that all of the beast's body will still be intact unless you want to have it grounded by the strong force."
When Jiang Chen heard Nana's reasoning, he couldn't help but to feel disappointed.
"Argh fuck it, anyway, I know there's going to be something like this in the future, so I might as well do it now." Jiang Chen told himself, as long as he gains strength, getting noticed by people will be inevitable.
"Hey, buddy, do you think that young man died?" Lei reminisced about Jiang Chen before departing for the wilderness.
"Ha! Are you attempting to be funny, Lei? Of course, he's dead; he could have been digested already in the beast's stomach. " Roy stated that he knows that people like Jiang Chen dying in the wilderness is a natural occurrence.
Jiang Chen approached as he got closer to the gate, while the guards had to talk to each other.
"Buddy looks," Lei said, motioning to Jiang Chen.
"What is that?"
"Is it a beast?"
They have no idea what they are seeing because Jiang Chen is carrying all of the beasts around him. The beast's body has covered his human figure as he carries a large stack of beasts, and his appearance is covered in dirt and blood.
"Stop!! Stay where you are " When they saw this figure approaching near the gate, they both yelled.
"It's me," Jiang Chen said as he dropped all the beasts on the ground to let them clearly see him.
"Ha!? Is it you, and you haven't died yet?" Both guards were taken aback, unable to believe Jiang Chen had survived outside for so long.
Jiang Chen's mouth twitched for a split second as he thought, "fuck these bastards wanting me to die,"
With around 20 beasts on the ground, the two-guard quickly concluded that the young man in front of him is powerful. He was so young, and yet he was able to kill so many beasts. They reasoned that if this person grew in the future, it would be better to be on his good side.
"Brother, welcome back," the two guards said quickly. Sensing an opportunity to suck up to a strong person, they decided to call him brother.
The life of a guard isn't all bad; the pay is sufficient to buy food for themselves or their families, but it's never enough to support their cultivation.
Jiang Chen's mouth twitched again as he had never seen such shameless people; only a short time ago, they had assumed he was dead but were now calling him brother.
"No, no, no! How can I call myself a brother to you guys when you're guards and I'm only a peasant. " Jiang Chen waved his hand and quickly denied them, asserting that he did not want to be associated with these two.
"Come on, brother, don't be that way; how can you belittle yourself?"
"Yes, yes. How can someone as powerful as you belittle yourself?"
Jiang Chen reluctantly nodded, not bothering to argue with them.
"Thank you, brother; I'll go ahead now." Jiang Chen couldn't help but refer to them as brothers because they might try to force themselves on him again.
"Yes, brother, take care," they both said, waving their hands.
As Jiang Chen entered the gate, he suddenly remembered that the beast he had hunted was so large that he needed to sell the majority of it.
Jiang Chen comes to a halt, his gaze returning to the two guards. "Hey, brother, do you know where I can sell the meat from this beast?" He inquired.
The two guards exchange a smile and say, "Of course, brother!!"
"Hey, Lei guard here while I guide our brother to sell his beast meat," Roy said as he immediately volunteered to assist Jiang Chen.
"What??? Why do you have to be there to help him? Remember, I was the one who initiated contact with him in the first place." Lei refused to back down. He remembered the first time he saw Jiang Chen and advised him not to go because it was dangerous outside.
Both of them are aware that sucking to a strong person may result in strong backing in the future, so neither is willing to back down.
"All right, let's help our brother together," Roy said.
"But who's going to watch over the gate?" Lei wondered, worried that if their employer found out they were leaving their post, they might lose their jobs.
"If you don't want to come, don't."
Roy then said something to Lei in hushed tones. "Besides, who's going to know? It's not like this place is going to be attacked. You never know, we might be able to get this young person to back us up in the future."
Lei believed Roy was correct; they had been guarding here every day but nothing had happened so far, and having a backer would be something worth risking.
"All right, let's go."
Lei and Roy took Jiang Chen to the location where he was supposed to sell his beast meat; the location appears to be a secretive hideout that ordinary people are not supposed to know about.
It was claimed that even the most affluent members of society had only heard of it, with few knowing where it was.
"Brother, when we go inside, make sure we don't offend anyone," Roy said solemnly as they stood in front of the hideout's gate.
"Yes, brother, this place is kind of special because it's a black market." Lei also reminded Jiang Chen of the nature of this location.
"Do you mean the black market?" Jiang Chen shook his head. He had no idea such a place existed in the slum.
"Yes, not only can you sell your beast meat, but you can also find items such as a weapon, Elixer, martial technique, and cultivation manual, as well as other items such as information and slaves."
"However, there is a catch. Most of what they sell here is either stolen or fake, so be cautious when purchasing anything."
"However, there are also genuine ones, but finding one would be difficult."
They both told Jiang Chen what he could expect inside.
