Tristan and Crim started out, after a couple of warning going both ways to be careful, they both took off in different directions. Crim was headed to scout for Ents and set up traps to try and locate them, as well as just mapping out the area in general to get a lay of the land and set up a for a large hunt for the Ents when Tristan and him would work together to get more. As well as being the material most suited to make his weapons Ent metal was very valuable so they had decided to gather up a decent amount of it and see if they could either have more weapons armor made from it or to just sell it and start making some decent money for when they are done with the military.
Tristan on the other hand was not searching for anything other than apex predators to hunt, anything that seemed to be dangerous game for him he would more than likely try and take down. He kept remembering how strong everything from his dream was and was almost in a frenzied state of mind to grow stronger. Tristan was in his wolf form moving fast and doing his best with his senses to find anything that could be worth fighting. He still had his weapon and materials in the back of his mind but that wasn't his focus at the moment, if he ran across something he could use he would either grab it or take note of it for later to retrieve it. Tristan traveled like this for quite awhile, he had gone over 20 miles from their camp, which for him was still under an hour of travel, he started to get an strange feeling. The sense that helped him the most was definitely his smell and the smell around him had gone from being a standard forest to rotting and decaying flesh, he saw bones of both small and large animals all around him, but he could find no trace of what left all of it. He transformed into his partial wolf form, the use of his borrowed sword might be critical here and began investigating further.
He couldn't see any tracks leaving the place and he could smell or hear anything out of the ordinary. He was currently in using his shadow skill to be unseen and although he knew it would be a risk, he quickly left the shadows and purposely took a large step and crunched a bone in half, seeing if what had killed everything there was perhaps hiding and couldn't see him. As the bone made a loud crack Tristan quickly looked all around, listening and trying to sense anything. He was on high alert, and he still couldn't sense anything. He started slowly walking through the area deciding if he can't find anything still then he will have to leave and continue on. He did a quick check on the bones to see if any were usable, but all had been decayed too much nothing that was left could be useful for anything. Suddenly his perception starting to scream danger, he quickly rolled forward and turned around with his sword out. The danger from his perception was gone, and there was nothing. A large tree and a boulder were the only things behind him, the tree was dead and there was nothing sitting on the branches, Tristan was getting a little weirded out at this point, but he turned back around and started walking again. Just the same as last time he got a strong sense of danger again, he just turned around as fast as he could this time, and still he saw nothing, the scene behind him hadn't changed at all. The only thing that he thought might have changed is that the swore that the rotting smell had gotten stronger. At this point he wasn't sure if his mind was playing tricks on him or not, but he again turned back around and started walking, this time slower and he was tensed up ready to strike and turn around. This time he heard something before the sense of danger, he heard three drops... drip, drip, drip, and then the smell got stronger. He slowly turned around and looked for the cause of the sound. He looked at the tree again and saw nothing, there was no liquid anywhere to cause a dripping sound. Then as he looked at the boulder beneath it, he saw three green drops of liquid that appeared to be very acidic very slightly smoking into the boulder. He was now about 20 feet away from it, so he prepared a throwing knife and tried to find his target. He looked on the top of the boulder, and yet again above it and he still couldn't see anything on the branches. He was starting to get frustrated so he took his knife and launched it at the trunk of the tree, maybe if it hit hard enough it might startle whatever is out there enough to make it move. That was his thought process at least, just before the knife was about to sink into the tree it suddenly made a metallic sound and ricocheted off.
What he thought was just the tree trunk turned out to be a large reptile that was like a chameleon, its scales could change colors to blend in perfectly to almost anything. Along with that it appeared to be venomous, it was about 10 feet long, and Tristan guessed it to be almost 1000 pounds. His throwing knife was steel, and it just bounced off, either its scales and defenses were incredible, or it might have a hardening ability on its scales. Tristan readied another throwing knife, as he didn't want to get close and have to deal with the venom of the creature, and he prepared himself for the fight that was about to happen.
