How I would've finished the story, Pt 1

I think at this point it's clear I'm not going to be continuing this. To the couple dedicated readers I had, I truly thank you for the fun times.

While I may not finish the story in an official capacity, I don't want to blue-ball the ending for all of eternity, so I'll be giving a simplistic rundown of what I was originally planning.

----------------------------

After Kane finishes up his interview, he teleports out to a secretive area and puts on his now familiar cloak and mask.

At a distant manor, prowling in the darkness, Kane makes his way into a basement. The meeting area of the foreign soldiers he's now allied himself with. The regular time of the meeting arrived.

Nobody came.

Getting worried and sensing nobody nearby, Kane waited a few more minutes before going home.

The next day, after spending time with his father, Kane is picked up by the military and assigned a mission.

This time, he's going overseas to finally take some land from the enemy continent. A foothold needs to be established, and with so many district leaders being assassinated, no time can be wasted. The new soldiers have been trained up enough for an invasion.

Upon saying goodbye, Kane is taken through the glamorous capital of the continent, out to the country's central military base, and flown tens of thousands of Kilometers away.

Kane leaps out of the plane, free-falling for thousands of meters before breaking straight through the roof of a military base on the shore.

Before the soldiers even have time to react, Kane teleports all across the room, knocking each one out in just a fraction of a second.

More soldiers pour into the building, Kane fires a barrage of mana bullets, destroying all of their weapons.

"Stop!" Kane commands.

The soldiers freeze in fear, a single man steps forward.

"What do you want, Manalite."

"I'm not going to kill any of you, I don't want to either. Informant code SD."

The man snarls. "So you know that code huh. How do I know you haven't just tortured someone to get it? Tell me, Manalite. What is it you do?"

"You've been having me take out district commanders in the southern region, sir."

The man turns to the soldier behind him.

"#316, call it in."

Kane raises an eyebrow. "You guys all go by numbers?"

The commander hesitates a few seconds, then laughs.

"No no, #316 is a code."

"What for?"

"Confirming that a Manalite has committed treason against the Republic."

Kane immediately spread out his senses, but it was too late, a whole squad of Manalites burst from the floor as the commander pulls out a handheld tranquilizer gun.

A bloody fight ensued, with Kane avoiding magical and physical attacks alike. Being forced to kill several Manalites.

All the soldiers he'd knocked out earlier had gotten up and began shooting tranquilizer darts at him. They were tipped with an extremely sharp metal that could just barely puncture concrete.

To Kane's surprise, Rick was among the soldiers. Though Kane went out of his way to simply knock him out, it was all for nothing.

The commander staggered to his feet and hit a red button.

"THE PLAN FAILED, SEND IT!!"

Kane could detect something flying through the air rapidly, in a panic he activated his Anchor and teleported straight home.

The base however, was struck with missile after missile, a huge barrage turned the entire underground compound into ash. Killing everyone left inside.

Kane looked around his room in a panic, before collapsing to the floor. A dart sticking out of his back.
