Guardians of the Grave

Silver, Divine and Tora were surrounded by zombies. The situation wasn't ideal, and Silver knew this. She looked towards her teammates, and after seeing their despair filled faces, she spoke to them. "Alright, Tora and Divine, stay alive. I'm gonna have some fun." Her eyes were filled with an intense amount of blood-lust, and her smile was sadistic. Tora nodded absent-mindedly, while Divine seemed to be in shock.

Silver dashed forward. She swiped her scythe outward, slashing across the zombie's arm. Sliding across the floor to avoid a bladed arm, she stopped behind her first target. She brought her scythe downward at a slight angle, hitting the exact same spot she previously struck. The scythe tore through the zombie's flesh, and it's arm fell to the floor with a soft "PLOP". Blood began to gush from it's wound, creating a puddle on the stone floor.

Tora was awestruck. He never witnessed a fight like that. A low growling entered his ears. Barely able to raise his shield in time, a loud "Ding" sounded out. He had nearly forgotten that he had their aggro. "DING DING DING DING". Blow after blow began striking his shield. The zombies were terrifyingly quick. He yelled out to Divine. "Get over here! No lollygagging!" She rushed over. Coating her sword with light, she stabbed into the zombie's side. It howled in frustration. Letting go of her sword and backing off, she began chanting: "Light burns all. Neither good nor evil can exist. Die. Burn. Consume." As soon as Divine finished chanting, her sword began to vibrate wildly. The zombie howled in pain and began sizzling. Light was burning it from the inside.. After the spell finished, the sword tore itself free and flew back into Divine's hand. Tora and Divine grinned when they saw the zombie's HP: "100/300".

Silver had just cleaved off the zombie's other arm. The zombie died, dropping to the ground and turning into a pile of ashes. She hadn't sustained any injuries, but fighting the zombie was taxing. She turned just in time to hear Divine's chant. She thought to herself 'How utterly embarrassing it must be to have to chant.' She arrived behind the zombie that was howling in pain. She swung her scythe towards it's neck, decaptitating. It dropped dead. They all thought. 'Two down, Four to go.' Silver nodded to Divine. "Alright, we're re-forming up, there's too many and they're too-" She was cut off as Tora was slashed across the shoulder. He grunted and backed up. Silver shot forward and deflected the next strike. Without looking back, Silver said: "Tora, on your feet. I'll take the support position, you two need to get your heads in the game." They nodded and replied with a firm "Right."

Tora began dodging, blocking and parrying with a mad fury. Just four of these guardians were truly difficult to handle. Multiple "Clangs" filled the area every second. Divine had just finished a chant, when Silver brought the scythe's point down into a Zombie's shoulder. Ripping the scythe out of it's shoulder, she easily (and effortlessly) tore the zombie's arm off. Filling the air around her with shadows, she swung the scythe, slashing across the zombie's torso. It was confused, because it saw exactly three copies of Silver swinging at it, but only recieved one slash. It dropped dead. '3 Down, 3 to go' She thought. Silver recieved a slash on her back, and she stumbled forward. Two more blades were heading towards her. She side stepped the first blade and kicked it away, forcing it to miss. In an impressive display of acrobatics, and using all of her focus, she dropped to the ground and kicked toward the zombie's leg. It backed up, missing it's swing and allowing Silver to get out of her unfavorable position. As she retreated she yelled. "Tora, get their aggro back, I drew too much attention."

Tora immediately used "Taunting Battle Cry" once again forcing the zombie's to focus on him. All three zombies rushed at him. He blocked their strikes one after another. He activated another skill. "Riposte: When activated, acquires and stores a block charge everytime you successfully block a strike. After Obtaining six block charges, unleashes a paralyze effect on each enemy you hit within 3 seconds. Paralysis last .25 Seconds."

After six strikes, Tora struck all three zombies. No more than a quarter of a second later, Divine and Tora were upon the same zombie.

Divine stabbed into it's abdomen, and chanted another spell before twisting her blade. After she spun it, it began to sear the zombie's flesh. At the same time as Divine's strike, Silver swung her scythe downward, slashing across the zombie's back. After Divine's spell ended, the zombie dropped dead. Tora was still fighting against both remaining zombies in a desperate struggle when Silver appeared like a ghost behind the zombies. Her eyes flashed a cold glint and she laughed wildly as she attacked. Sweeping both zombies off their feet using her scythe, she repeatedly swung at them until they turned into a pile of ashes on the floor. The zombies were powerless to stop her.

Tora and Divine both let out a sigh of relief and collapsed onto their knees. Silver immediately motioned towards a corridor across from where they were standing, signaling that someone was coming. Silver grabbed both of them and drug them to the darkest corner of the cavern. She waved her hand as a dome of shadows formed around them and said in a low whisper. "Stay Quiet, someone is coming from up ahead. It's probably the necromancer who raised the Grave Guardians. We have to be careful.

Divine and Tora nodded and said nothing else. They waited for what felt like hours, but only a couple of minutes had passed. Silver dispelled the dome, and watched the back of a robed figure dissappear. Silver looked at them and nodded. They all began to head in that direction.

.....

Back at the city of Corvat, a guild leader was sitting at a desk in the rented floor of an inn. He was having a conversation about a certain "Silver Moon".

"Are you certain she's in Corvat? We should try and get her to join us. She would be a great asset."

The man standing in front of the desk spoke with pride in his voice. "Yes. I saw her check into the Blue Mana Inn. I was sitting at a table at that time drinking with guild mates. She seemed like a very peaceful girl."

The guild leader nodded. "We don't necessarily have to get her to join. We should at least try to remain on friendly terms. I will personally meet her when she returns to the city. Have a couple guys waiting to spot her near the entrance. We shouldn't waste this opportunity, Valiant Widowmakers could use the extra boost."

The man in front of the desk nodded and respectfully said: "Yes Sir."

The guild leader nodded "You are dismissed, Ghroan."
