The look Z'ork gave Lich when bringing up that local death was final, was filled with sadness but covered with a smile. It seemed that even though he wasn't going to hire all the ones killed, it still hurt the world tree branches population of orcs.
However the fact that he remembered carrying the bodies of dead orcs, Lich only reflected and thought about changing how he did things. He had thought having the bloodline of an orc would cause him to have more connections with them and be more upset that he killed them. But when he thought back to when he did it, it felt the same as taking out garbage or walking the dog.
'Am I a crazy heartless bastard to begin with or is D'orc somehow affecting me making me like this. I guess either way in the end, I am still a heartless bastard currently. Well, I guess I don't really have the time to worry about his right now.'
"Thanks for the drink Z'ork. After I am done I am going back in." Z'ork only grunted and walked off.
