Shadow Sphere

The surrounding suddenly froze as the two authorities collided. Due to the same level of authority, August could counter the monster's authority.

The monster's shadow concentrated outside the rubble and a dark figure emerged. The body was twenty meters high with shadows changing shape all around it, looking like tentacles. The monster looked straight at august and darkness descended. The sky turned dark and a black dome covered the entire area.

' Shadow? Is that his skill?' August thought to himself.

" You also have authority? It seems I am meeting a fellow ruler."

The monster moved its tentacles and the dome started to change shape. There was something coming out of the surface of the dome.

A huge sphere made of shadow hovered above them, It was about a hundred meters in diameter.

August looked around and the whole ground was devoid of any shadows, be it of him, fatty, or Daisy.

' Did the sphere absorb all our shadows?'

" hehe… I never imagined the shadow sphere to get this big. You sure are very powerful. Let's see how you defeat your own powers."

There was a hole in the sphere and a purple light started to emerge. A moment later a large purple beam shot towards the building.

*BOOM*

The entire building evaporated in an instant. There was a huge hole in the place where the building was supposed to be. The monster looked at the crater, it knew a ruler wouldn't die from an attack like this.

He looked around but didn't find him anywhere.

" Where did he go ?"

In a building near the vicinity, August appeared with Fatty and Daisy. They were able to move after getting away from the monster's authority, and August's authority protecting them.

"Bro... What is that ?"

Fatty looked at the huge sphere in the sky.

" That is the skill of the monster. It absorbs the shadow of others and takes the skill they use."

' But it didn't copy my original skills, or does it have to do with the rank?'

He thought about how the skill worked. If the shadow copied only the acquired skills, then other people didn't have any. So it was definitely the skills that were displayed. Also there was a cap to which rank the skills are. That was the reason, it couldn't copy his cosmic bridge and acquire skills.

" Then, it will be a lot easier."

He teleported himself back to the sky near the sphere. He used his quantum force field to enforce his entire body.

*SHING*

A purple ray shot out of the sphere. August used his quantum force to block the ray. He also used aura to further enhance the barrier. The SS rank aura coupled with the force split the ray in half.

*BOOM*

The two separated beams created two craters in the ground, where the monster was supposed to be.

" You.. Why can't my sphere copy your other abilities."

The shadows reappeared in a different place and the monster spread its tentacles toward him, at the same time another purple ray was being aimed at him.

* SWISH* *BOOM*

August got to a higher position and used his Aura to attack the sphere.

*SWISH* *SWISH*

The sphere was hit by aura but nothing really happened. He then shot a gamma flame towards the monster. The monster didn't dodge the attack and evaporated. August looked around the dome. He was observing where the monster would emerge.

He widened his senses and spread his force field. He sensed a fluctuation in one corner of the dome. He immediately teleported there and shot another gamma flame.

" You... How can you sense my presence?"

" I will tell you if you show me your real body."

August repeatedly teleported to different locations to blast the monster away, meanwhile, the sphere was shooting rays at him nonstop, but he kept avoiding it.

August knew that the sphere can't hit him, also it was taking up a huge amount of energy to activate. So the monster was not able to use his full strength. To be honest, it had great endurance. But August was confident he could beat it. The monster didn't have any skills that would threaten him. It relied on shadow skill and absorption.

August only needed to wear him out. Then when his real body was revealed, use 'acquire' skill to get all the skills. The shadow ability was quite handy.

As he was destroying the shadow bodies one by one, the sphere changed shape that resembled a humanoid figure. The figure turned and ran in a certain direction. August sensed the next location of the monster, and that was exactly where the humanoid shadow was headed.

' Trying to bait me, huh'

He teleported to the place and blasted the shadow again, but the hand of the big shadow figure hit him. The claws swept across his body as blood flowed out of August's left arm.

' It's stronger than I thought.' The left-arm healed itself in an instant.

" You see... You can't defeat me. No matter what you try. So why don't you show yourself and answer some questions." August said out loud.

" Can't defeat you.. You human.. Dare to look down on me."

' What a stubborn monster.'

August took out his sword 'Shadow's Edge' that he created yesterday. He channeled his aura into the sword. The two cores lit up, lightning and fire permeated the blade as sparks flew around the blade.

August swung his blade towards the huge shadow figure.

*SWISH*

*CRACK*

*BOOM*

Everything that was in the line of the attack was sliced in half. The ground was split in half as the shadow dome was leaking the light from outside. The huge shadow figure was also split in half and at the center, there was a shining black orb.

' Found you.'
