Collecting

After finishing the meal, despite me not being hungry, we left Saphias house and made our way towards the Town's gate.

"Go ahead, I need to check something first."

"Ok. Take your time."

I keep walking towards the gate but keep Saphia in sight. The moment she is out of my sight, I open the map. That fact that I can see my companions on the map are really useful with NPC's. Saphia is heading towards the Docks. I wonder what she is looking for, if she was hoping to steal my boat, then I'm sorry to disappoint you. I got no Boat.

She keeps looking around and returns to the gate. I'm already outside the town and walk towards the First Shadow Soldier.

I can take them down in less than 3 Hits now, despite my equip. In Conquerors War, Level never determined your strength and only increases stats, auto-heal and Mana Regeneration. Using proper equipment and strategies and knowing how to properly utilize your stats, skills, abilities is what truly makes the difference. While level increases once base stats, it does not increase the Player's skill. And about 80% if not more of the Players don't know how to properly use their strength and speed.

By the time Saphia arrives at, I had already taken down 6 Soldiers.

"Sorry for making you wait."

"No problem. Where are we heading to?"

"The forest again. With your inventory, we could gather more food and wood for building. Being the only person on the island to enter the Forest, I could always only bring wood or food."

This is actually a good idea. I could also use the materials to craft workbenches and other tools using the game's crafting system. As a Sandbox RPG Conquerors War, every player can craft basic equipment on the go but better and more refined weapon and armor pieces need proper workstations. I only require wood and metal to craft a workstation out of thin air.

"After gathering Materials and Meat, we should head towards the dungeon. We are going to need Metal as well."

Saphia looked at me with curiosity.

"Ok. If you say so."

There is nothing really memorable to mention afterwards. We went into the Forest and I pulled out the Axe from my inventory and began chopping down one tree after the other. Replacing every cut down Tree by planting Two new ones for each one cut down. Thanks to some rocks I found lying around, I could craft a stone axe for Saphia, using the crafting system.

She looked at me quite surprised when I handed the Axe to her, so I explained all the powers we Players had to Saphia while continuing on collecting all the necessary materials and ingredients.

"The First and most important ability is the Crafting System."

"Crafting… System…?"

"Yes. It lets me create basic armor Equipment weapons tools and Workstations. No Potions or alchemy of any kind, though, and enchantments aren't possible. Furthermore, the tools lack durability and don't last long. The next thing would be the Crystal Exchange. The crystals that the shadows drop can be collected and exchanged for various special items like Healing crystals, Gems, EXP, or Materials."

Looking as things are now, the Crystals only bring a benefit to the Players. The Crystal Exchange was added with the Final Release Update. Still, I wonder what they have been using them for.

"I thought that these Crystals were used to strengthen the Barrier?"

Oh, right, I forgot about that. But I haven't seen the Town's crystal, where does she bring them? Normally, it's a huge Light Blue Crystal in the Middle of the Town, but the Stand was empty. The Crystal was probably stolen. In that case, Saphia isn't Strengthening the Barrier, She is repairing it.

"You can use them like that as well. Come to think of it, Where is the Town's Crystal?"

"Hidden. At least the Fragment of it."

So Saphia is repairing the Barrier.

"Every Player is also equipped with a Map, while it does see the whole world you can only see detailed places where you have been. Or by buying a map."

Looking at the map is a really depressing sight. After 6 weeks, not a single country was freed. There are over 800,000 Players here, what are they doing?

"The last System we have is called the Help System. It is a system designed to fight, craft, cast and shoot for the Person. If you see a "Hero" and his weapon starts to glow, it means he is using this system. They can't, however, use their strength, it was designed to only help after all yet many people still rely on it."

"So when I confront someone with a glowing sword, I don't need to worry about his stats."

"Depends on the color of the Glowing. The System Glows Yellow to not be confused with any enchantments."

"You know quite a lot about Heroes and their power."

"I have the same abilities, of course I know about all of that."

Thanks to my position, I was able to learn everything about this game. Even magic without the usage of the System.

Every time Saphia's axe broke, I Crafted a new one. It's good that the beginner axe is made from iron and lasts far longer.

In my inventory I see a picture of a wooden log and in the right corner below it is the number 68. Next to it is the picture of a dead Bora with the number 5 at the bottom right of it. We collected all of this in under 4 Hours, but I can see that the Sun will set soon.

"Let's do a quick dive into the dungeon."

Not only do I need iron for a Workstation, but also for an anvil and better swords. Our Equipment will hold on for a little while, but who knows for how long. I hope there is a proper smith on this island. There were 5 at the beginning, but who knows, some player might have killed them all.

"Sure, lead the way."

I walk ahead of Saphia and craft a basic torch. I also used the moment to check my Stats again. Stats increase on level depending on your weapon and lifestyle. Someone who fights close combat with daggers has a higher stat increase in speed, while someone with a broad sword increases in strength more. So far, I have increased in speed and strength but also a lot in dexterity. Intelligence hasn't really increased, but I can't use magic anyway right now. Agility also went up a bit. I can also see that I increased my Lumber and Hunting skill. Both are still at Novice level, though.

Finally, we arrived at the Island's only Dungeon. Looking at our current skill it will be a walk in the Path.

I pull out the torch and start looking around for flint stones. Normally, there are some at the entrance.

"Wait, I got a flint stone."

Saphia reaches for her back pocket and pulls out a Grey stone with white markings on it from usage.

"Thanks."

I take the Flintstones, put the torch on a stone with some leaves and start lighting it. The moment the torch is lit, and I make my first step in the Dungeon, a swarm of Bats comes storming out. What were they called again?

"Dammit, I hate these things."

"At least they are harmless."

We walk deeper down and the Tunnel gets bigger the further we go inside.

We come to a cross-walk with 3 paths, and a lot of iron on the walls.

"Let's get going."

I pull out the pickaxe from my inventory and start hitting away. The sound from me hitting the Walls echoes through the entire Dungeon. I hope I can attract the mid-boss of this Dungeon.

I'm not certain how much time has gone by due to the Darkness, but I managed to gather 120 Iron ores thanks to them always dropping in a bulk. Saphia kept holding on to the Torch and was on the lookout for potential danger.

"I think that's enough for now."

"Ok lets return. We've been gone for a while."

Saphia turns around and heads towards the exit we came in from.

Excluding the Hunt, I managed to raise my level by 2 just by chopping down trees and mining. My level is now 27. I wonder why my levels rise so fast.
