IN BLANK NIGHT HOTEL 3
CHAPTER 17
When Tasha's shift had ended, she decided to have a nap, but she wasn't able to sleep. She laid her back on the huge bed. Her face looked pale and exhausted, her dull eyes confronted the white ceiling. Deep into her mind, Tasha thought about the fun moment she had with Mr. Gleason, she smiled to herself as she rolled to the bed.
Shortly, Maya walked into the room, with a red-flavored lollipop on her mouth. Tasha swerved in her direction, incredibly, her face brightened when she saw a familiar figure staring at her.
Maya's set of dazzling, bleach-white teeth gleamed as she smiled, her star shadow-black skin, was proof that she was a black American, her wasp-waisted figure, gave her a charming look and her long hair swooped in coils over her long neck, giving her a pristine glamour, her Merovingian eyelashes blinked countless Times as she stared at Tasha with a bantering look.
"Who is he. . . .girlfriend?" Maya teasingly asked.
"Who is who?" Tasha beamed when she heard her question, she soon turned in her direction awkwardly.
"Come on gal, you have been smiling by yourself for hours, so tell me who he is, or I'll just have to reap the truth out of your mouth?" Maya sat close to her side, as she tickled her stomach.
"Hahaha. . .noone in particular" when the girl felt Tasha wasn't giving the correct answer, she continued to tickle her stomach again.
The tickling was unbearable, she couldn't hold back the laughter that was stuck in her throat. Tasha laughed until she felt a sharp pain in her ribs, her throat had turned dry, to the intractable laughter.
"There is no need of it Maya, She's seeing that old man," Samantha interrupted them, she had just arrived from her shift and possibly overheard Tasha and Maya talking.
"You mean, the old man in a wheelchair?" Maya stopped tormenting Tasha and threw a questionable look at Samantha.
"Uhh, don't tell me you didn't notice it" she nodded her head sideways, as she threw popcorn in her mouth.
"Can you two stop teasing me, nothing is going on between me and FH, he only considers me as his daughter." Tasha grabbed a pillow and threw it In their direction, her statement, surprised her two best friend's they both looked at each other.
"Then what's with the 'future husband' thing," Samantha asked full of doubts.
" Uhm. . ." Maya's quarter-moon eyebrows lifted, per What Samantha had asked.
"Come on guys, don't give me that look, it's just a nickname I came up with, there is nothing more to it." Tasha helplessly explained herself.
Tasha looked at her two best friends and couldn't help feeling proud of them. They were the first people she met when she had arrived in Chicago. Feeling so lost, and left behind, they had offered to show her around, the city. Maya and Samantha treated her lovingly. They were more of a family to her than a friend.
After a few moments, Maya jumped up excitedly as she held the phone close to her chest.
Confusingly, Tasha and Samantha quickly looked in her direction conceivably, wondering what was amiss.
Excitedly, she rolled on the bed. Nevertheless, her phone held magnetically on her chest, then fell on his knee close to Tasha.
"Please ladylove, I need a favor from you," Folding her hands to beg.
"What is it. . ." Tasha looked at Samantha who sighed, then to Maya, who was down to her knees.
"You should promise that you will accept my favor regardless of what it is"
" I promise. . ." Tasha said with a swoon smile.
"Please, help me with my shift tomorrow, someone has asked me out and I don't know what to do," Maya said with a soft voice while looking at Tasha with a puppy eyes expression.
Tasha found it hard to deny her. Samantha only shrugged her shoulder when Tasha looked at her with a supplicating look. Probably, signifying that they should help their friend.
"It's okay, we will help you, but only this one time" When that was said they fell into a tight embrace.
"Thank you guys," Maya said as she held her two friends firmly, making it difficult for them to breathe.
After having an incredible day with her friends, Tasha and her friends slept as they had a lot to do tomorrow.
