Alex and I gazed up at the tall statue of Celestia. The pristine white marble shimmered from the colors that shone from the stained glass windows. We patiently sat on the bench as others prayed to Celestia around us.
“How long are we going to wait?” Alex asked as she rubbed her tired eyes.
I shrugged. “Not sure. The High Priest might be busy…”
The blonde yawned as she leaned her head on my shoulder. “Why did we have to come so early? It’s so cold…” The girl shivered and pulled the cloak closer to her body to keep her warm.
I rolled my eyes. “We wake up around this time for school. Stop whining.”
“But it's the weekends!” Alex reasoned as she sat up straight. “Weekends are for sleeping in!”
“You’re not the only tired, alright?” I let out a tired yawn myself.
“Alexandra and… Reiré I presume?”
Alex and I turned our heads to see the black-haired priest in his white robe. His dull silver eyes glared at Alex, causing her to shrink.
