I looked around at all the wires attached to me wondering what had happened after the black hole thing, that happened like yesterday, I think.
"You really don't remember do you, well two weeks ago you woke up screaming an obviously out of breath, saying how someone found you, then in an instant you disappeared, it took me a whole week to track your magic since it doesn't have a definite scent being mixed with Standulf's magic. I tracked it here and I was told you've been in a coma since you came here exactly two weeks ago now." Gwendal rounded up.
I couldn't phantom what Gwendal was saying, since I was almost sure all that happened must have happened yesterday, unless every other thing was a dream.
"So... I'm not dead." I asked again just to be sure.
"No girl, did you not hear what I just said?" Gwendal answered irritated.
"Oh, I just needed to be sure." I said happy that I was able to get back.
"You did good kid, you passed and you were able to withstand that witch and get back. It takes a strong mind to be able to fight her mentally, I guess we're not totally doomed" Gwendal said with a soft smile.
I examined her face and saw not only the smile, bit a worried look, and relief in her eyes, I guess she was really worried about me.... Wait!
"M-my family, where's my family?" I said feeling unsettled.
"Calm down, your Mom should be back anytime soon, she just went to wash her face, so don't cause her so much trouble, she and the whole family been worried." With Gwendal's last word the door slowly opened and someone walked in, I guess trying not to wake me, it was.... Mom?
Mom?!? Wait... She's supposed to be at work, or am I still in the alter universe, no that can't be, Gwendal said, I turned and she was nowhere to be found.
I turned back looking at my Mom who stood there staring at me as if she would lose me if she looked away, so I decided to speak up first.
"Mom" If felt like I was saying that word for the first time in a long time or for the first time in my life but she relaxed a bit.
"Oh Honey." Mom said as she almost ran towards me, I mean it was a spacious room but that doesn't matter now.
She hugged me so tightly crying, I also couldn't take it and started crying along side her.
"W-what h- ha- happened to you sweetie, you just... just wouldn't wake up one morning, y-you had me so worried, why would you want to leave your Mother behind." it broke my heart listening to my mother, I never wanted to statle her.
"I'm sorry Mom, I didn't mean to, I promise." I said crying too.
My mom was so shaken in my arm right now and all I could say was I was sorry.
"The doctors couldn't find what was wrong with you, they kept saying you were sleeping and there was nothing they could do, they were almost giving up, but but you Mom wouldn't let them, cause I knew my baby would come back to me." She said in-between sobs.
"It's alright now Mom, I'm finally back, I'm okay, so stop crying or I won't stop crying, besides don't you have work today?" I asked her.
"Don't be silly girl, I don't have work..." I was immediately in shock, what did she mean by she didn't have work.
"What?" I asked, I can't be stuck in that dimension again, I just couldn't.
"I meant I haven't gone to work since you were in this condition, your Dad has been handling thing at the office but still stops by to see you sometimes while I catch up on a little work then, is anything wrong dear?" Mom asked worried.
"No Mom, I'm fine now you're here with me." I said finally at ease, I've finally escaped, I was finally free again.
My mom got up, drying both my tears and hers with a smile as she told me she needed to get the doctors to check on me and see if they could take me home.
I nodded as she walked out the room, it was obvious my mom didn't want to leave but I gave her a small smile to assure her that this was all real.
Now alone again, I took a deep breath thinking about all that just happened and how the rest of my family would react, I knew that this was just the beginning and I was determined to save them.
"You've done well child, I always had faith in you and it was a close call but you've made me proud" I turned around and there he was... Mr Jonathan.
"How did you--"
"Magic dear, something you would soon be able to use with ease my dear." He said taking the sit next to me.
"She was there, and I couldn't even do anything about it, if not for the crystal, I don't think--" I stopped short in my words.
"True, but you were also strong enough to withstand her and successfully pass the trial of the book and nothing else matters." He said holding my hand.
"She told me, she told me the story of why she became like that, rather I saw the story and you were there, with the institute." I said slowly.
"I do no know if what she showed you but if I was there then it is probably true, I'm sure she thought you would not make it and showed you the story of what happened, she sure saved me some time." Mr Jonathan joked.
I laughed a little too but it was short lived "I think I understand why she was mad, I would too if I didn't get what I wanted or something I thought was supposed to be mine from birth I guess, but not enough to destroy a whole kingdom." I finished so I wouldn't be confused.
"Child, we understand her anger, but she wanted to be he most powerful being in the universe and not for the right reasons." I remained silent as Mr Jonathan sighed.
"You see my child, the book reveals things to us at the institute, that's how I was able to monitor your trial and notice immediately Altheda invaded your trial but there was nothing we could do, she used a powerful dark spell for that." He finished.
"But where is she now, the last thing she told me before leaving was that she was going to pay a visit to the kingdom of Sona, no Sorarina, So-- So--"
"Sorania child, and she did shortly after you finished you trial, but not for long and only the fragment of her image could be seen. She declared war on all of Sorania, claiming to bring an army to take over. I'm sure she must have used a powerful spell to invade your trial and still transport herself to the institute and it has for sure taken a big effect on her, so for now she poses no threat to you or the kingdom." I sighed a breath of relief.
"But not for long my dear because she will be back, and you have to be ready in order for us to defeat her, the Queen for told before her death a legend that has been for told by many before her that a guardian and a ruler shall arise far from another land to bring us total peace and would be the first and strongest single ruler and guardian the kingdom has ever seen."
I listened to Mr Jonathan and became even more confused, how could someone as amazing as that possibly be me, the only battles I've fought are the ones in the examination hall.
"Listen to me child, I know it is going to be rough, but we have almost approximately a year in human time and a decade in our time before Altheda come back to assault us and your world will not be spared either, now the fate of both worlds lie on your shoulders. You child decide if you will fight or not, but we do not have much time. For now, I give you my blessings as the former guardian, when you are ready, you know where to find me." And immediately my door swung open and I turned around and saw my Mom and some doctors, I turned back and Jonathan was gone.
"It's alright sweetie, the doctors are here." Mom said holding my hand when I didn't turn back.
What she didn't know was what was on my mind was greater that any check up because if I don't act fast this might be my last check up or anyone's check up for that matter.
I shake my head from the thought, that shouldn't be what I should be thinking about, I haven't seen my family in what feels like years and I won't let that witch deprive me of more than she already has, and for also disrespecting Danny, she definitely has something coming for her.
