[Y/N POV]
You pulled up outside Mr. Jeons long driveway, turning the heating off before stepping out of your car into the freezing, unforgiving night air. As you pulled your white coat tighter around your body, you walked up to the large, black iron gates that were three times the size of you, before peering in behind the bars to see - for the very first time; your bosses manor, large and impressive from its gothic style windows and rooftop to the dark statues that mirrored each other in parallel lines the whole way around the courtyard in the distance.
"Holy shit.." you breathed out, seeing your breath in the form of smoke in front of you as you reached into your coat pocket, feeling the reason why you drove an hour and 40 minutes in the opposite direction of home.
You had been Jeon Jungkook's personal assistant for a little more than 8 months now - having successfully landed yourself with the prestigious role after a long, nail biting interview at his company that conducted medical research; particularly that of blood diseases and other medical matters to do with haematology. You had no such interest in haematology really - all you had wanted to do was to gain experience in the field of being a P.A for a higher up, but you had no idea that you would be graced with the task of being the CEO's personal assistant; not in a million years. You recalled the coldness of his tone and the emotionless expression on his face when he interviewed you - asking strange types of questions like "Do you know the difference between work and private life? How involved would you expect to be with my private matters if you were to be successfully chosen?" to which you answered something along the lines of "There's a very clear line between those two things, sir. If I were to be given the job, I would do what was required and asked of me, by you - to the best of my ability." It shook you greatly when he let a small, devilish smile paint his lips in response to your answer. It wasn't that you felt uncomfortable around him - but something about him set goosebumps prancing over your skin, and you weren't the only woman in the office he had that effect on either.
Earlier on that evening when Jungkook was finishing up for the weekend, you couldn't help but notice he seemed more vicious than usual. Irritable, over-sensitive and short-tempered were three of many things that he had been all day. You felt your presence in the same room as him was unwanted. Every time you looked up from your desk to catch a glimpse of him, he was staring at you with a look of pure disgust on his strong features. "What did I do? Do I smell? I'm sure I put deodorant on this morning.." you discreetly raised your arms to smell under them, but you couldn't detect any foul smells coming from you at all. Women often thought of you as extremely lucky to always be by his side - a gorgeous, eligible bachelor - tall dark and handsome would have been an understatement to say the least. He had banks full of cash, yet no family to support with it, and when you thought about it logically - it made sense that he was so cold and hostile towards those who didn't understand him. You could never deny the slight liking you had developed for Jungkook - catching sneaky glimpses of him when he was deep in thought or reading over documents; but you never let it get in the way of your work; and that was exactly why Jungkook had kept you as his P.A for this length of time as he was notorious for firing his assistant's just mere weeks into the job for over-stepping the boundaries that he liked to keep between personal relationships and professional ones - men and women alike.
As you stood staring past the gates, you took a wallet - Jungkook's wallet to be precise, out of your coat pocket, clutching it in your nearly frozen hands and feeling the leather underneath your finger tips as you thought about how you were going to get through the gates, let alone into his house to explain yourself for showing up like this. You first noticed Jungkook's wallet exactly 30 minutes after he left the office. He seemed to be in a hurry as you walked over to him with his suit jacket - almost ripping it from your grasp before shoving it over his shoulders hastily, before grabbing his briefcase; not even looking you in the eye, as if he were avoiding you altogether. "See you on Monday, Sir" you had said cheerfully, to which he just walked right past you - stopping at his office door, before turning his head slightly to the side so that you could observe his infamous side-profile and speaking in his usual, low tone - "Have a good weekend, (Y/N). Take care."
"So cold, yet with some moments of warmth that are so...lovely" you said out loud in defeat to yourself after he left. When you finally saw that his wallet was still on his desk, you couldn't help but take a little snoop inside - seeing his black card, his platinum card, a large sum of cash and his driver's licence - among other usual things a person would have in their wallet. The first thing you did was try to contact him via telephone - to which, as usual, he didn't answer; especially as it was now what Jungkook referred to as 'private-life time'. In other words, what he meant by that was "Don't bother contacting me, I won't be answering."
Which brought you to the situation you currently found yourself in; almost 2 hours out of the city, no cell-phone service and just enough gas in your tank to, hopefully, get you back home. You followed google-maps to his address which his driver's licence informed you of, but you wished so badly that you could have at least let him know that you were arriving so that you wouldn't be standing, shivering in the freezing cold - wondering how to let yourself in as you looked around for a handle to the gate.
"What's that? A buzzer?" you seen a barely noticeable panel to your left. Anyone could have been forgiven for not knowing it was there as it was literally almost pitch-black dark, but you cursed under your breath, feeling like an absolute moron for not checking beforehand. As you raised your finger to press the buzzer, you felt your heart-beat begin to pound in your chest - a slight sweat forming on your forehead as you could practically feel the adrenaline in your blood flow reach every corner of your body. You held your breath, hearing your heart in your ears as you pressed the button, holding on to it for a few moments before removing your finger - waiting to hear someone, hopefully Jungkook on the other side.
However, unbeknownst to you - you didn't even need to press any kind of buzzer to inform Jungkook that you were present. The moment your heart-rate increased above a standard 70, Jungkook was instantly made aware of your being outside as he strode towards the study in his manor to view the CCTV of his front gate, seeing you just as you rang the bell. Jungkook widened his black eyes as he swallowed the huge lump in his throat - hearing your heart beat pound as he thought about the rush of blood throughout your body; the sweet blood he knew belonged to you as he had been enthralled by it every day for the past 8 months - and today had been particularly unmerciful as he was thirstier than usual. Normally, Jungkook would have gotten home and fulfilled himself for his desires from his refrigerator - but having no reserves left, he was forced to wait patiently for when the sun rose the next day when his 'friend' would have arrived with what Jungkook needed the most.
For again, unbeknownst to you, Jungkook was in fact a vampire; a very hungry, thirsty one at that. And then there was you; a beautiful woman whose sweet, almost aromatic blood that dizzied Jungkook's senses everyday was now practically dangling herself right in front of him - teasing him, tempting him and testing his morals and ethics towards the lower-intelligent beings that were humans. Jungkook had always abstained from killing humans in order to satisfy his needs, unlike other vampires he strongly disagreed with - rather, he and a few other vampires used the haematology business as a type of farm. The business was just a means to make them extra money while keeping them alive from the hundreds of blood banks they owned, operated and directly involved themselves with. Jungkook was born from a long line of vampires that wanted to peacefully co-exist with humans - and he always carried and held that value to a high standard, but his very will was being tested as he licked his lips, feeling his sharp fangs begin to protrude slightly as the arousing thought of sucking you dry went to every corner of his mind, and to the space between his legs. Feeding on humans wasn't just satisfying in a sense of feeling full from being hungry; it was sexually intoxicating - making it just that extra bit dangerous as Jungkook looked at your nervous disposition through his CCTV screen with carnal desires he hadn't ever been able to fulfil in his lifetime.
You let out a sharp sigh, wondering if Jungkook had possibly already turned in for the night - seeing as it was now reaching 11pm. "I'll try once more" you thought, deciding that if he didn't answer, you would just return home and try calling him again in the morning. But before you could press the buzzer for a second time, you jumped straight out of your skin as you heard Jungkook's unmistakable voice purr through the panel speakers.
"Yes?" he inquired - low and velvety as always.
You cleared your throat, almost forgetting how to form proper words as you leaned in towards the speakers, not being sure of where the microphone would be.
"Uhm, Sir - it's (Y/N). I...know it must be a shock to hear my voice right now but, you left your wallet at the office and I came to give it back to you...can I come in?" your voice shook because of the obvious chill, thanks to the night air - but also because you didn't know how your boss would react to you showing up out of the blue like this. You knew that he hated when he had to mix his professional life with his private life - and that's exactly what you were doing.
You continued to stand there, waiting for him to respond for what seemed like an eternity - wondering if he had even heard you at all, as all you could hear was the distorted sound of the speakers mixed with an owl calling out in the distance as an uneasy feeling settled in your stomach. As you thought about saying what you said again for a second time, you heard the metal clanging of the gates in front of you as they began to swing open in the opposite direction - giving you clear access to the walk that would take you right up to the manors front door, before hearing Jungkook's voice come from the speakers once more.
"You want to come in? I won't stop you." you heard, as the gates stopped on either side, fully open and waiting for you to pass through. You didn't know why your chest was rising and falling with slightly rapid breathing, you didn't know why you felt a mixture of excitement and terror as your feet and legs started moving as if they had a mind of their own. All you knew was that Jungkook had willingly gave you access to walk right into his home, but what did that mean? "Surely, if he hates people getting involved in his private life, he would have come out here and fetched his wallet himself?" you pondered, walking along the gravel driveway and noticing several dim lights guide your way along either side of the path as you kept your eyes fixed on the rather large artistic display in the middle of the round courtyard.
"A gargoyle? No...some kind of monster anyway" you quickly studied the stone creature that habituated itself in the centre of the kind of wishing-well monument, as you took care not to roll your ankle in your high-heels with the uneven stones underneath your feet.
You walked up the 5 steps that led to his front door, stopping as you observed the beautiful, intricate design of the double doors. You noted how it was vaguely religious, with a mixture of 16th century romance-Gothic style around the edges and along the frame, making you think about your bosses obvious love for all things dark and mysterious that was obvious from even looking at his house alone.
You thought about knocking the door, or looking for a doorbell of some sort - before you heard the click of a lock - your eyes fixed on where Jungkook's face should appear in conjunction with your height, watching as the door opened to reveal him, lit up by dim lighting from his home; causing you to not be able to see him very clearly.
"Sir...uh - here's your wallet. I'm really sorry for coming here like this but I thought, since it's the weekend, you would probably need your belongings. I'll be on my way now" you said politely, holding out the wallet just before the doorway - your heart-rate once again skyrocketing as you heard Jungkook let out what sounded almost like a dark, sinister chuckle.
"Why don't you come in for coffee? You look...cold" Jungkook's voice called out as if it were wrapped in silk - a slight tone of desperation that couldn't be heard by your ears. Yes, you looked cold, but Jungkook could sense and almost feel your hot blood pumping through your veins as he imagined all of the things he could possibly do to you.
You wet your lips tentatively, wondering just why on earth your boss would be inviting you in for coffee at this time of night, let alone with his stance on the secrecy of his private life. You were curious, nonetheless.
"Curiosity killed the cat..." you thought, "...but satisfaction brought it back, right?" you took a deep breath, looking around you a little before nodding back at Jungkooks silhouette in the shadows.
"Some hot coffee would be good - I feel like my blood is gonna freeze from the cold" you giggled slightly.
"If only you knew...how wrong you are..." Jungkook smirked to himself as he stepped backwards, in awe at how truly easy was to invite you into his home without even using his vampiric powers of persuasion - an affect that was extremely useful both when dealing with business; and pleasure.
Without uttering another word, you stepped forward into the warmth of Jungkook's manor - being glad to finally be out of the cold; as Jungkook clicked the door behind him, staring at you from behind - thinking thoughts that you wouldn't have ever imagined, not even in your wildest dreams.
To be continued....
