Closing the office door behind you, you still held your breath as you couldn't quite fathom what had just happened. Not only did you still have a job – but Jungkook; notorious for not having much emotion or consideration towards anyone who wasn't a potential business partner – had just profusely apologized to you, several times.

"Is this a dream? Did I imagine that?" you blinked in an attempt to dispel your shock as you saw three of your female work colleagues flagging you over towards the reception desk, thinking that it was far enough out of ear shot of Jungkook's office so they could quiz you on what just happened.

"What was that about? Are you okay?"

"You're as white as a ghost! Did…what happened? Are you –"

"Yes, I'm fine! Don't worry…I just, accidently sent Mr. Jeon the wrong email on Friday night. It was a personal email meant for my grandparents and seeing as Mr. Jeon was in my recent contacts list…I pressed his name by mistake. Mr. Jeon was just telling me to make sure it doesn't happen again – everything is okay!" you couldn't believe your ability to come up with a believable, barefaced lie within seconds of being prompted.

All three women sighed as they put their hands to their chest out of pure relief for you. "We really thought you were about to get fired! Did you hear that tone in his voice? So scary…"

"Yeah – but I find that quite sexy to be honest…" they began giggling amongst themselves as you inwardly rolled your eyes at their girlish behaviour, before excusing yourself to go off in the direction of your own office to prepare for Doctor Han's arrival. Unbeknownst to you, however; Jungkook was certainly not out of earshot as he heard the entire exchange – sitting comfortably in his office chair as he found himself wondering why you just covered up for his behaviour the way you did. The longer he sat, the more he found himself to almost be in a trance with your scent still marvellously potent in the air. He raised his hand to his face, trailing one of his long, slender fingers across his bottom lip as he recalled kissing you so passionately in his own home. "What's happening to me? Is this what 'feeling' is supposed to be like?" he could have sworn he felt a mixture of wonderfully awful – yet awfully wonderful.

Jungkook shook his head upon swallowing harshly. He couldn't believe that he was acting like a typical love-struck teenage boy right out of one of the many dramas he had seen on television – especially when he was the CEO of one of the biggest corporations in the world. "It's like I'm hungry, but I'm not…or like when I'm exhausted, but I still have so much energy…maybe I just drank a batch of bad blood?" he pondered over the many variables that could possibly be the cause of his current sickness, before pushing all thoughts of you, your kiss, your blood and your scent out of his head; using all his strength to try and focus on his work for the day ahead of him.

Despite what had happened earlier; your day passed by as just another day at the office – much to your relief. Phone-calls, emails, meeting Mr. Jeon's clients and ushering them into his office before making tea or coffee during their meeting – nothing out of the ordinary at all. "I guess it's just back to boring old life now" you sighed as you looked down at your clock on your desk. "8pm…agh, I should really start to head home – not like I have anyone waiting for me at home missing me." You said in reference to your cat, Mugsy, who seemed to have more of a social life than you with the way he gallivanted around your apartment block outside – hooking up with the opposite sex and having the time of his life.

After gathering up your things and switching off the light, you exited your office – locking the door behind you and signing your name off on the reception desk register. Before you could even turn around to begin walking in the direction of the elevator, you felt eyes burning on you – a quiet presence in the empty entrance area as you turned around to be met by none other than Jungkook who had just exited his own office with a surprised look on his face to see you still at the office as late as he was.

"Oh – (Y/N)…you're still here?" he asked – his briefcase in hand and his suit looking just as crisp and fresh as it did that morning.

"Ah, yes~ I was just finishing the Montgomery file in preparation for your meeting with them next week" you bowed your head to him slightly. After the encounter you had with Jungkook at his manor, you thought that you would possibly feel uncomfortable or awkward in his presence. But to your surprise, no such feelings presented themselves as Jungkook looked down into your eyes – smiling at you strangely.

"You've finished that file already? But we don't need it until next week…" his voice was a mixture of being in shock and impressed by your hard-work as he gripped his briefcase tighter, watching you as an embarrassed grin took place on your soft features – Jungkook noticing the irresistible curve on the sides of your lips that he had never noticed before.

"I know but, I wanted to make sure it was ready. And – it's not like I have anything exciting to go home to. Just my cat…who hates me" you mumbled the last sentence, thinking to yourself, "Idiot, why would you say that? He doesn't care about your cat, you silly cow"

"You have a cat? You didn't strike me as a person who would own a cat" Jungkook relaxed his smile a bit more as he found himself desperately wanting to know more about you, realising that he had never spent any amount of time getting to know you before as he kept you at a strict arms length – for your sake as much as his.

"Yes – his name is Mugsy. I found him just outside my apartment block – well, he found me really. He was a stray and no one else wanted him so I took him in, even if he is a bit irritable most of the times" you chuckled lightly as Jungkook listened to your words intently, "But – I won't give up on him. He can seem a bit scary at first, but once you get to know him…he's really a lovely cat and, well, he's all I've got and I'm all he's got" you smiled up at Jungkook's face as he found himself relating to that of your cat – the impression people got of him vs. his true self behind his iron-fist exterior. Even as a Vampire, Jungkook wished so intensely that one day, he would be able to find someone who truly understood him – someone who understood and accepted him for who he was. He knew that humans referred to that as 'love', but it was always drilled into him that Vampires were incapable of feeling such emotions – yet, here he was.

"I…I see" he gave you a small smile in turn as he looked up towards the elevators before glancing back down at you. "Seeing as we are both finishing work at the same time, shall we ride the elevator together?" Jungkook found himself almost feeling what he assumed was nervousness as he let the words freely fall from his mouth – hearing your heart rate begin to beat just a little bit faster, making him feel slightly warm and mellow on the inside.

"Uhm, sure, Sir – why not?" you smiled at him politely, trying to hide that you were silently dying on the inside. "First – he kisses me. Second – kicks me out of his house. Third – he apologies to me, and now he's asking me to 'ride the elevator together?' I think he's got these stages all in the wrong order" you couldn't help chuckle to yourself as Jungkook ushered you forward with his hand – watching you from behind as both of you silently made your way to the elevator, patiently waiting for it to arrive after you pressed the down button to call for it.

After stepping inside, pressing the ground floor button and watching the doors as they closed, you found yourself standing at a comfortable distance from Jungkook – not too far away but not too close either as you both listened to the typical elevator music playing from above. Being in such a small, confined space with you, Jungkook's senses were heightened tenfold as he could practically hear your hair growing on the top of your head. Every breath you took, every beat of your heart and every flutter of your eyelashes were comforting to him in that moment. Time seemed to stand still for Jungkook as he desperately wished that he could stay alone in the elevator with you for just a little bit longer; but as the lift stopped on the 13th floor, the doors opened to reveal four business men, all laughing about something rather loudly and ultimately distorting Jungkook's moment of heaven as they all took a step inside, bowing at him politely, before turning around to face the doors as the elevator began its decent once again.

That was when Jungkook felt something…odd radiating from you. He had felt it before in his home when he had ordered you to leave, but now – it was intensified to a great degree, as he felt you move closer to him; your elbow almost touching his as Jungkook looked out of the corner of his eye to observe your obvious discomfort since the four men joined you both.

"What's wrong with her?" he knitted his eyebrows together as he sensed nothing less than pure fear pulsing through you. Jungkook turned his head slightly – only to see one of the four men now scooting up right next to you, smirking and smiling to himself as if he were accomplishing something great.  As Jungkook cleared his mind and let his Vampiric senses take over, he could clearly note the increase in the man's heart rate as he continued to brush into you – you now almost fully flush against Jungkook as you wanted nothing more than to be as far away from the man as possible.

"Good evening Mr. Brown, how was your day?" Jungkook spoke up as he discreetly pulled you by the sleeve of your work coat, almost placing you behind his broad frame to get a good look at Mr. Browns wrinkled face – a man in his late 50's or so, divorced several times and a long standing worker for the Jeon Corporation. As Jungkook pushed you behind his shoulder, you widened your eyes a little, feeling slightly safer being away from Mr. Brown – almost being protected by your own boss as Jungkook could feel you trembling beside him.

"Ah, Mr Jeon! Lovely to see you. Isn't this little thing your P.A? (Y/N), right?" Mr. Brown chuckled what seemed like a hearty laugh – but Jungkook could see through his foolish, human intentions.

"Mmh" Jungkook replied hesitantly in the form of a yes, "I wasn't aware the both of you were acquainted" he looked down at you with questioning eyes to see you completely frozen on the spot, not able to open your mouth or do much else as you just wished the elevator would hurry up and reach the ground floor already.

"Ahaha! Well, my day was alright, business as usual. And you, Jeon?" Mr. Brown completely ignored your entire existence now, focusing his attention solely on Jungkook as Jungkook pulled his lips into a forced, friendly smile.

"Business, as usual here too. Well, it was nice running in to you again." Jungkook spoke flatly as the elevator hit the ground floor, the three men in front of you all stepping out first.

"Ladies first~" Mr Brown leered down to you, giving you a sly wink as he licked his lips quickly.

"Please, Mr. Brown – why don't you go on ahead? I insist" Jungkook tilted his head at the man slowly as you felt him grip your arm over your coat – a clear sign which told you to follow his lead and stay put. Mr. Brown couldn't fathom why, but he felt compelled to leave the elevator first – even though in his mind, he had wanted you to step out first so he could feast his eyes on your bodyline as you trotted in your high-heels in front of him.

"Ah…yes – I'll be off then. Good evening Mr. Jeon" he said in almost a robotic tone, before joining the three other men outside as they continued to walk towards the automatic doors that led into the street. Vampires – from the moment they are made, are given the abilities of their family's name that have been passed down for generations. Jungkook, unlike many current Vampires, was from royal blood; the original Vampire lord himself. Every Vampire possessed superhuman abilities such as exceptional hearing skills, speed, agility, eyesight and so on – but only a few possessed certain abilities like Jungkook's family did. One of them – he had just used on Mr. Brown – mind control, where he could make anyone – apart from another Vampire, bend to his will and do whatsoever he pleased.

As you stood lingering for a few seconds longer than you expected to, you shook your head slowly and exhaled, much to Jungkook's relief as he knew you had been holding your breath since the elevator left the 13th floor – trying to rid yourself of the negative feelings brought on to you by Mr. Brown before you began walking forward. Suddenly, Jungkook slammed his fist on the 'close doors' button, stopping you in your tracks as you widened your eyes to their full capacity, before seeing Jungkook step in front of you, looking down into your eyes as his body came closer to yours.

"That man, what did he do to you?" Jungkook's voice was low, his tone laced with irritation as you darted your eyes from him around the elevator – wondering just how on earth he was able to deduct your nervousness around Mr. Brown from just being beside you.

"N-nothing. He, he's just a bit of a creep sometimes…nothing I can't handle" you thought back to the countless times of Mr. Brown approaching you in the buildings canteen – chatting you up and complimenting your good looks and 'prettiness' as he had put it, asking you if you were free on the weekends or what you liked to do for fun – sometimes 'accidently' letting his hand brush too near your thigh as you stood awkwardly beside him. Jungkook began feeling something strange – almost as if he wanted to take you by your shoulders and pull you in close to him, or run out of the elevator and catch up to Mr. Brown to threaten him – but for what reason, he didn't know.

"If…if he ever makes you feel like that again, you come straight to me. Understood?" Jungkook replied no other way than he knew how to – stern and emotionless, but for some reason or other, you felt something else radiating from his words; something that made your pulse slow down and speed up all at the same time.

"Like I said, he's nothing that I can't handle. I'm a big girl – I can deal with men like him no problem, but – I'll let you know if it happens again in the future. Thank you, Sir." You didn't know how else to respond to him, other than speaking politely. As you bowed your head in the form of a goodbye to Jungkook and pressed the button for the doors to open before walking out, Jungkook felt a sharp sting in his chest, as if someone had just punched him full force in it. He knew that you were only answering the way you did because he was your boss – but so much of him yearned for you to drop your walls around him; to let him inside so he could learn more about who you really were. "Why am I being like this? Why am I so drawn to her?" he wondered as he began walking after you in the direction of the exit – only to look outside and observe the torrential rain falling from the heavens above.

"Oh shit.." you cursed out loud once you stepped outside, knowing full well that you weren't prepared for the rainy weather at all – clearly envisioning your umbrella which was hung up on your coat rack at home. "Whole lot of good it is to me when I don't have it.." you sighed, before turning to Jungkook who was directly behind you.

"Well, see you in the morning, Sir. Have a safe journey home" once again bowing at him before taking a deep breath in – just about to begin your 20 minute walk home in the rain, before you felt Jungkook gently pull you back by your arm under the rain shelter at the front of the building. You turned around, shocked at his sudden action – only to see him looking down at you in a stern fashion, as if he were about to scold you for doing something bad.

"You're going to walk home in that? Can't you…take a taxi?" Jungkook knew that if you were to walk home, you would surely catch your death as the rain was quite literally hammering down on the streets with no intentions of letting up any time soon. Vampires, unlike humans – did not suffer from illnesses of the mortal such as the flu or general feelings of being unwell due to environmental issues, but Jungkook wasn't insensitive to the fact that all you had on you was a thin work coat with your blouse underneath, topped off with your usual high-waisted pencil skirt that stopped just below your knees which was certainly not appropriate clothing for cold weather.

"I could, but it would be quicker for me to walk. Have you seen the queue of people waiting for taxis?" you smiled, raising your voice over the sound of the rain and gesturing to all the other people in front of you, as they waited for taxis to roll up on the street to shelter their journey home from getting soaked to the bone. "I'll be fine! I've done it plenty of times in the past – I don't get sick so easily" you assured him – however, Jungkook was not convinced.

Jungkook so desperately wanted to just put you out of his mind and not care about your well-being as you walked home in the rain. He wanted to say "Alright, well – see you tomorrow then" which normally, he would have. But ever since Friday night, no matter how hard he tried – no matter what he did to try and occupy his mind with something else; you were always there, running through his thoughts and leaving traces of you absolutely everywhere, to the point where Jungkook found himself obsessively thinking about you. Wondering how you were doing, if you were okay, if you were afraid of him – how you really thought of him.

"I..I don't want you to walk home in this weather, (Y/N). I assume you don't take your car because it's more eco-friendly to walk such a short distance, so…please – let me give you a ride back to your place. I would feel… better about knowing you arrived safe and dry." Jungkook felt his whole being softening at the look on your face as you stared back up into his dark eyes. Not only did he want to leave you home for his intentions stated to you – but he was curious about where you stayed, never previously knowing more than your address when you first applied to be his assistant and never personally checking where in the city it was.

"Well…I mean, I won't refuse a ride home but – are you sure it's not inconveniencing you?" you mumbled slightly, not being able to understand why all of a sudden – Jungkook's rule of 'privacy' seemed to be thrown out the window as he had never uttered more than two words to you outside the office before.

"You…you could never inconvenience me. My car is over there – please keep close to me. I don't want you to slip and fall, the ground is wet and you're in heels." Jungkook came up with a valid excuse for the warmth of your body to be as close to his as possible as he pointed in the direction of his own, private space right in front of the building where his black BMW i8 was parked – still gleaming, even in the rain.

As you briskly walked beside Jungkook – feeling his arm lightly slung around the back of your waistline; you began feeling something other than just 'strange'. For a brief second, you imagined what it would be like to date the CEO of a company – having him escort you to his expensive sports car before driving you home in the rain to your apartment, being the absolute envy of every woman to be on his hip. "Careful, (Y/N). You can't fall for this man. He's your boss, it's unprofessional. What happened on Friday night was just a onetime thing….yet, why do I want to invite him in for coffee once I get home?" you questioned yourself, as Jungkook slowed down – unlocking his car, before opening the door to let you inside.

"You don't have to open the door for me, I'm quite capable of doing those things myself" you chuckled at him waiting for you to step inside as you put one foot in and sat down in the comfortable leather seating – Jungkook's eyes still on you as he scoffed in slight annoyance at your comment.

"Isn't this what women like? A gentleman?" he asked – both sarcastically and curiously. He had grown up as a young Vampire through many romance eras, and the gesture of pulling out seats and opening doors was something he had grown accustomed to seeing and hearing as acceptable behaviour by men for women.

"It's a nice gesture – but women of the 21st century don't need men to do those kinds of things anymore – not this one anyway." You sensed his sarcastic tone and gave back just as good as you got, as you smiled at him coyly – seeing Jungkook allow a similar smile to sweep across his attractive face at your answer. "You're becoming even more interesting (Y/N). You're not like how I expected you to be at all. In fact, you've exceeded my expectations." He thought – not admitting to you that he loved your response as he closed the door and made his way around to the other side, before taking his place in the driver's seat. You watched him fiddle about with the central heating – making sure all the heat was radiating in your direction in an obvious attempt to keep you warm – before he put the car in gear, reversing out of the space, and setting off down the street.

After informing Jungkook of where you lived and giving him basic directions, the ride to your apartment was somewhat quiet – but it was far from uncomfortable. Apart from being in a fancy sports car with a rich, stupidly attractive man – you found yourself feeling terribly happy at being in someone else's company outside of work; something that you hadn't experienced in a while. It was both a mixture of your own choice and the demands from work – you didn't have time to socialise, but on the same note, you hated being surrounded by so many small minded people that filled the ranks of the world. You had often thought "Sometimes, being alone is better" – but you found yourself thinking radically different when you were with Jungkook.

Jungkook on the other hand, couldn't stop himself from observing how you seemed to live in the more 'run down' part of town as he drove closer to your home. He found himself thinking and worrying about how you had been walking to and from work in such an area – the thought of you in any danger striking such terrifying emotions in his metaphorical heart.

"Have you always lived in this area?" he spoke for the first time as the car came to a stop outside your apartment block – a small, grey building that looked like it should have been demolished a good few years ago.

"Only for the past year. I spent my childhood and my teenage years out in the country with my grandparents – so, moving to the city was a bit of culture shock but, I got used to it eventually!" you smiled at him as you removed your seatbelt to turn round to him. "Should I…ask him if he wants to come in for some coffee?" you asked yourself as you noticed a look of slight diffidence on Jungkook's face. "Last time we had coffee…it didn't go so well" you also thought, but you were determined on putting the past in the past and moving forward with your professional relationship with Jungkook, and your gesture of coffee – being nothing more than a way to say thank you for the ride home (or so you told yourself), could finally be a way to move on from the previous incident.

"Sir – I know you're probably extremely busy and wanting to get home but, would you like to join me for some coffee? It's the least I can do to say thank you for the ride home" you smiled at him warmly as Jungkook felt a lump forming in his throat – causing him to swallow hard, letting you observe his Adams apple bob up and down in his neck. "There's no way he'll agree to walk into some dump like this, why did you even ask him?!" you thought, as you saw the indecisiveness taking place in Jungkook's eyes.

Jungkook breathed deeply as he licked his bottom lip quickly, thinking to himself "I want to be in her life more…but is what I'm doing dangerous? Why do I doubt myself? Am I crossing the line again if I say yes?"

"If that's what you want, I won't stop you from making me some coffee. Yours always tastes better than mine anyway." He smiled so beautifully at you, you thought you would faint right then and there as his pearly whites shone like a light in the darkness engulfing you both outside the car. "Shit! I didn't expect him to actually say yes – is my apartment even clean? Do I even have coffee?!" such irrational thoughts flew through your head as you swallowed quickly and tried to pretend that you weren't having a slight mental breakdown on the inside.

"Okay then, follow me – I'm on the second floor." You said as you opened the door, stepping out while hearing Jungkook switch off the engine and joining you outside – Jungkook being sure to lock his car as he thought about how disappointed he would be to come out after having coffee with you to see that his beautiful BMW had been taken off for a joyride somewhere.

"She's seen me in my usual habitat…isn't it only fair that I get to see hers?"
