Asahi was sitting with his parents at one of the tables his father had reserved for the family dinner. He looked up in time to see Mr. Jeon and Mrs. Kim walk inside of the restaurant. Mr. Haga waved to grab the attention of his friend and when Mr. Jeon saw him, both of them embraced each other, patting each other on the backs.
“Long time Mr. Jeon,” said Mr. Haga, shaking Mr. Jeon’s hand after the hug.
“I’m glad you could make it all the way from California,” said Mrs. Kim as she hugged Mrs. Haga.
“We had to close our business for a few days because we wanted to see Asahi so much. We really did miss him and he is always busy,” said Mrs. Haga, pinching Asahi’s left cheek.
“Okay mom. I missed you too. But now you can stop,” said Asahi as he pushed his mother’s hand away. He rubbed his cheek which felt sore after his mother had pinched him hard.
“Oh no! Is Alya not coming?” asked Mrs. Haga, turning sad.
