Thea POV

Roy is distraught that he has not heard from Debbie. She turned off her phone last night, and he cannot track her. He has no idea where she is or what she is doing. He tried calling the hotel, but she is not staying there. He is on edge and freaking out.

I sit beside him on the couch. “Maybe she needed time to think,” I say to Roy, trying to reassure him. He pats my leg and smiles. “She has been with me a long time, and I guess it is time for her to start thinking that maybe she is ready to move on to another life,” Roy says.

“How do you feel about that?” I ask him. “I do not know how to feel. I have cared for Debbie for a long time now, and this just is not like her. Any time she needed something, she would come to me as a woman, and we would discuss it, so this is odd to me,” Roy says.
