"Dungeon Break? What...?" Alex muttered.
More words appeared in front of him.
[As you have failed to clear the Dungeon Gate, the Monsters from that Dungeon will enter your world.]
Alex felt a slight chill.
'Can this thing... Who is answering me?' He thought.
"What Dungeon Gate?" Alex asked out loud.
He felt a slight buzz from the liquor he had drunk before.
[You have failed to locate the Dungeon Gate in your area.]
[You had 24 hours to clear the Dungeon.]
"I had to?" Alex asked after taking more gulps of Vodka.
[Every person in your area had the responsibility to do so.]
"That Dungeon... The Monsters inside it... Are those green creatures?"
[Correct.]
[Those Monsters are Goblins.]
[They are the inhabitants of the Dungeon in your area.]
"Is this some kind of prank? Can other people even see these messages?" Alex muttered to himself.
[Every inhabitant of the planet Earth has access to the System.]
[The System shall answer your questions.]
"Huh? Since when?"
[23 hours, 59 minutes and 57 seconds.]
"But what about..."
Alex's words were interrupted by other floating words from the "System".
[Dungeon Break has started.]
[The Dungeon's inhabitants can now leave the Dungeon.]
[Clear the Dungeon to stop the Dungeon Break.]
Alex put down the bottle in his hand and scratched his head.
"How do we clear the Dungeon? Where is it anyway?"
[A Dungeon Gate's location must be found by the inhabitants of the area.]
[24 hours after the Dungeon Break's start, the location will be available.]
'So in 24hours, we will know where that gate is...'
[To clear a Dungeon, you must defeat its inhabitants.]
[You must defeat the Boss Monster inside that Dungeon.]
"Boss Monster? What is this, some kind of game?" Alex asked while chuckling, obviously a bit drunk.
The System gave no answer.
Alex looked down at stared at the bottle of liquor.
"Dungeon Break... If it just started... Then why was there a green monster when I went in the store? Why did Erik..."
Images of dead bodies came back to him and he felt like throwing up.
[It is an irregularity.]
'Is that so...? I hope the police or the military will clear the gate soon...' Alex thought as he laid on his bed.
Minutes later, he was already asleep.
...
Fifteen days later.
It was 11 am.
Alex had just woken up.
He looked through his window.
The streets were covered with giants plants.
Some even started to go up buildings.
Most cars parked outside were not even visible because of the plants.
Alex had asked the System about it and apparently it was because the Dungeon Gates were letting big quantities of something called Mana flow into this world.
Multiple people were in the same situation as him, and he could see them peeking through their windows.
Seeing something at the end of the street, Alex lowered his body and did his best to not make a sound.
Heavy steps and shrieking could be heard.
A group of 7 Goblins passed by.
'What the hell... The one at the front is huge!'
While Goblins were usually 1 meter tall, this one was at least 180 centimeters tall.
It was a lot more muscular.
"What is that? Is it an adult Goblin? " Alex whispered.
[It is different from a Goblin.]
His stomach growled loudly.
Alex went into his kitchen.
'I really don't have much food left... Maybe three days worth.'
To Alex, going outside was a suicide mission.
Why?
Because some of his neighbors tried, and they never came back.
Not only that, but some were cut into pieces and devoured in the middle of the streets.
'I'll eat later. I clearly can't eat multiple times a day. This is better.' He thoughts as he walked back into his bedroom.
Alex sat on his bed and stared at the Tv.
It had been three days since he and, well, the whole country lost electricity.
"The last news broadcast said that those Dungeon Gates have appeared all over the world. Especially in areas with a high population count. Also, they appeared in the middle of approximately every military base in the world." Alex said out loud to no one in particular.
'We seriously need some strong people...' He thought as he stared at the ceiling.
...
One month later.
Most people had tried at least once to leave their house in order to get food for their families and themselves.
The large majority of those who went out died.
That is not to say that being home meant being safe.
After all, multiple houses and buildings had been raided by monsters.
And currently, Alex's building was being raided.
There was one simple reason why his building was targeted.
He had peeked through his window at the wrong time.
The monsters are always on the move, looking for humans.
And this time, they noticed Alex.
Additionally, the monsters on the streets were no loner Goblins.
Only those taller stronger versions could be seen.
The monsters growled loudly upon seeing him.
The next second, they started climbing the building.
"SHIT SHIT SHIT!!!" Alex shouted.
He took the sharpest knife in his kitchen, paced around the different rooms looking for things he might need and got out of there.
Alex went down the stairs extremely fast.
Once he was at the ground floor, he heard growling, smashing and other extremely loud sounds.
In front of him stood a door.
The door that led to the outside world.
A door he hadn't crossed in a month and a half.
He stood in front of it for a bit with shaking legs.
The next second, a loud roar was heard.
The monsters were getting closer.
He opened it and leaped outside.
'I'm so f#cked...'
