Walking Away

No I can't forget that evening

Nor his face as he was leaving

It gripped my heart as it stopped beating

Suddenly I was no longer breathing

The dread is condemning

The tears kept on falling

He couldn't hear me calling

The silence was frightfully deafening

Shackled in darkness

Shadows that loomed at me

A broken soul at it's litheness

A bounty of sorrow, a prison for me
