Energy Recovery Pill

"This is the formula of the Energy Recovery Pill, I have already prepared 50 sets of ingredients for you to use. You can just call me outside if you need anything. I will leave now so as to not disturb you, Young Master!"

The servant handed him a scroll and sacks of herbs that he will need. He nodded at the servant as he took the scroll and he inspects the herbs that is provided to him.

As the servant left, Zhou Mengyao read the formula.

The formula is not that complex, anyone who has a brain can pretty much understand it. As for refining it, Zhou Mengyao is not sure about that.

"Alright, I have plenty of ingredients with me. Let's do a trial and error and try to level up the pill refining technique to level 2 by the end of the day."

Zhou Mengyao reads the formula repeatedly and he memorized it making sure that he did not forget any detail.

"For concocting the Energy Recovery Pill, I need to have the three main ingredients first. The Sunblade Grass contains a huge amount of yang qi from the sun, Moonglow Grass to balance the huge amount of yang qi of the Sunblade Grass, and lastly and the most important is the concentrated blood essence of a red-clawed rabbit."

Zhou Mengyao took out the two herbs from sacks just near him. The Sunblade Grass is a little bit hot and its edges are pointed, it is capable of injuring one if not careful in handling the herb. The Sunblade Grass is cultivated in places with a very hot environment so it is mostly cultivated in places with good access to the sun's rays.

The Moonglow Grass is just a normal glass with just a grayish-blue hue, it emits a dim glow that is comparable to the moon due to being cultivated under the moon.

As for the blood essence of the red-clawed rabbit, the blood essence is that of in a liquid shape since cultivators use techniques to refine the blood essence in order to concentrate all of the qi of the magical beasts that they will slay.

Blood essence, everyone who has qi has it. There is plenty of knowledge about how to extract the blood essence of the magical beasts and demonic beasts but there isn't any knowledge that is widespread about how to take the blood essence of a human cultivator.

That is because it will be a demonic cultivation technique, it is frowned upon since plenty of demonic cultivators that roamed the continent have caused multiple disasters hence those techniques are forbidden.

"The first thing I need to do is heat up the pill furnace. I should be using a medium-sized pill furnace since the sizes of the ingredients are not that huge nor they are small, I have to use the Burning Hand Refining Technique to check the fire inside the pill furnace."

The pill furnace is circular in size and there are countless arrays that are placed upon the pill furnace for many functions, one such function is for making up a fire inside the pill furnace.

Zhou Mengyao used his own qi in order to heat up the furnace, after that he used the pill refining technique to check the temperature. After making sure that it is extremely hot to the point that his hands are literally burning, he removed his hands in the pill furnace and prepare for the next step.

He opened the lid and he puts two Sunblade Grass and after seeing that it has turned into a yellow liquid inside, he puts one Moonglow Glass to make sure that the Sunblade Glass will not turn into a turbulent yang qi which will explode if not balanced properly.

After seeing that both the herbs have turned into liquid, Zhou Mengyao used his qi and pill refining technique to mixed it properly. He failed since the herbs are conflicting with each other since it is not mixed properly.

With his hands that have a red aura with the same temperature that of a fire, he touched the hot pill furnace to use an array to let both herbs that have turned to liquid to mix properly.

BOOM!

An explosion took out as Zhou Mengyao have mix both of the herbs very fast which caused the balance to be more unstable.

"Ahem!"

Zhou Mengyao coughed after inhaling the black smoke that came out of the explosion inside the pill furnace.

"Young Master are you okay?"

"I am fine, don't bother me."

After coughing for quite a while, the room is assaulted with the smell of burning waste making Zhou Mengyao want to puke even more.

The smell is just very strong, the smell is as bad as that of a dead fish left alone for days which made it stink.

Zhou Mengyao opened the lid of the pill furnace as he can see that the mixture have turned into a black ball of a pill as he took it out and put it in a bottle and he made sure to seal the lid properly.

After doing so, the strong pungent smell slowly disappeared.

"That was a disaster, the temperature is just very high I need to properly grasp control in the fire. It caused quite a violent reaction due to the herbs not being mixed properly and the fire is very hot that it did not give me enough time to properly balance both the Sunblade Grass and Moonglow Grass."

Zhou Mengyao formed a conclusion, it is just a wild guess based on his intuition. Although it is just a wild guess, Zhou Mengyao knew that it has something to do with the system.

He did not have knowledge about pills since those knowledge are not being distributed so how will he even know where that knowledge came from? His only guess is that it has something to do with the system since not only will it make his technique stronger, it will also give him knowledge related to that technique.

Even though his first try is a failure, Zhou Mengyao did not feel disheartened rather he is being more excited because of the system.

Although it is a failure at least he is getting exp, he just wanted to level up the technique and try to discover more from it and see if he can use it to his advantage.

With the exp given, it will be very hard to make it improve but he is happy that it is hard. There is just no satisfaction from getting most things easily, if you put an effort into something that you are very serious about and succeed then it is very euphoric.

"Let's go for a second try."

Zhou Mengyao smiled as he took out another set of ingredients as he prepared to concoct the pills.

The third try, fail.

The fifth try, fail.

Zhou Mengyao took out a pill from his storage ring as he swallows it and he rests. Fatigue has overtaken him since he is in front of a hot pill furnace the whole time, he did not budge nor complain about the heat.

The Burning Hand Refining Technique gives him some resistance to the heat but it is not enough. He has some burn marks in his arms which he quickly healed as he consumed a healing pill.

The pill that he is consuming right now is Qi Recovery Pill. Concocting pills is very hard, with just two tries he already exhausted his qi so he has to take a Qi Recovery Pill in order to be able to start over again.

It is a waste of resources though since a bottle of Qi Recovery Pill is much more expensive as it is very important when trying to break through, it can't be used in fighting though.

It just is very inefficient if used in fighting since one will not be able to absorb the effects properly since the qi will just leave the body if not given attention when being consumed.

"I am already at my 49th try, this is very hard but I need one last try and I will be able to level up this technique."

Zhou Mengyao looked at the last two sets of ingredients with him, although he can ask for more sets of ingredients, they will not be given easily. It will take some time to gather a bulk amount of resources.

After recovering qi, he quickly got up from his relaxed sitting position as he stood tall in front of the pill furnace again.

As he became more and more experienced due to the huge amount of trial and error, he naturally has managed to gather more and more exp because of one certain reason.

Zhou Mengyao focused very well as he took out both the Sunblade Grass and the Moonglow Grass at the same time, he put it in the furnace without even trying to heat it.
