"As if we want to be here!" One of the small-eyed women snorted as she looked at Hannah, who was on the bed, and Hester with disdain. "Something has come up, and Dad can't give you the allowance this month. We'll talk again next month."
A sharp voice filled the small room. Hester glared at her and snapped, "I don't want his money. You are not welcome here. Get the hell out right now!"
Hester's eldest sister, Kina, gave her police uniform a mocking gaze and snorted, "How can you be so rude! You embarrassed our family by saying that swear word! I can't believe a fine lady would go to chase after thieves all day long. What future can a police officer possibly have?"
"My career is none of your business! My mother and I don't want to see you. Get lost!" Hester hugged the trembling Hannah and snarled.
