Just one battle

«We won,» I repeat for the umpteenth time.

Ignis pulls me closer and kisses my cheek. He hugs me with his sound arm, and we fall back on the grass.

«You did a great job,» he says. «My wife is so powerful.»

«You had a great idea,» I point out. «The plan is yours.»

«Without you, I wouldn't be here. You saved my life first. You gave me hope and showed me I could be a good King.»

«I didn't show anything to you, my dear husband.»

«You gave me hope. You told me I could do it. That's how I started to believe.»

«I was right, then,» I chuckle.

I look up at the sky. For a moment, I still see the energy of the thunder. But it's too short to be concerned. I will be like this for a few days, but it will eventually fade. Unless I use magic again.

The grey clouds are still assembled, and they let go of their water as if sensing that something great has just finished happening.
