Visitors at the Libary

Kira could have sworn that next time that damned alarm rang she would destroy it and turn it into cinders, why did it have to be so ungodly painful to listen to it was like it increased in volume just to spite her, getting up she realized she was re experiencing a slight version of the headache from yesterday, grabbing some pain killers she got to work anyway.

After arriving she greeted Jane who had arrived just before her, they both went inside and started their daily routine of unpacking both the books that had been sent from other nearby libraries due to people wanting to borrow them, and new books, Jane was the usual chatterbox, and was currently going on about having spotted a super dreamy guy on her way to work.

Kira thought about the couple she had met yesterday but there was no way they would stick around and wait at this ungodly hour in the morning, their routine lasted hours before they actually opened the library for the public and he seemed perfectly capable of both reading and understanding English and their opening times was quite literally posted on the door, there was no way .... right?

After finishing up, Kira went to make the kids section more presentable, she had a small surprise for them, the new D&D ruleset along with a few new campaigns had finally arrived, the library wouldn't budget for it so she had bought it for her own money and brought it along, she couldn't wait to see their joy when they released she had gotten it for them, most of them didn't have that much money, so even dice was something she had paid for by herself and allowed them to use freely, she couldn't say certain dice didn't occasionally dissappear but she kind of understood their position so she just replaced them without making a fuzz about it.

hearing a squiick from the front door, Kira immediately went there and found a swooning Jane along with the guy and girl from yesterday.

smiling to herself

she jabbed her elbow into the side of Jane and whispered.

"aren't you overdoing it a tiny bit"

Jane blushed and very quickly found something to make herself appear busy with.

The guy looked at Kira.

"You told us to come to the library today, so we did"

Jane's mouth fell agape and the sheer expression of shock was hard not to notice.

Putting on a plastered smile Kira replied

"True, you didn't have to be here at the exact time of opening hour, I'm not that busy that I couldn't have found time for you if you arrived later"

being cut off by the female superstar.

"We went here because we couldn't wait and Desmond was rather intrigued to meet you again"

throwing her hands in the air Kira gave an exasperated agreement.

"Well then, you mentioned looking for someone if you have a name of the individual I can easily let you know if it's one of my kids here at the library, otherwise does the library pc's have Internet and you can look up a search history.

if it is something else do we have plenty of books available on plenty of subjects, would you need help with navigating the computers?

Desmond looked at Kira with a rather bemused smirk.

"€£÷×+ +£€=÷ her name is Fiara and she is ×£€=÷×$%"

Once again Kira sustained a splitting headache, trying to pretend she wasn't feeling her skull being split open, she just politely nodded.

"I'm afraid there isn't any Kids here at the library named Fiara, but if you give a bit more information we can try to look up former addresses in the public register."

Desmond was currently giving his sister a knowing look interrupted by Jane called out.

"Kira, your role play friends are extremely hot, and i will forgive you since you're providing eyecandy but could you avoid speaking your made up languages here in the library, it's rather unpressioonal and you know how some of the stuck up types hates it, I would rather not see more complaints filed against you ... please"

Kira was rather confused.

"I didn't speak any made up language and I think they are foreigners, you can't blame them for mixing their own language a bit with English, learning a foreign language is never easy."

Jane simply rolled her eyes, while the two individuals were looking at Kira with a bemused smile.

shaking herself out of it, she turned back to the Forginers.

"Let me boot up the pc"

while booting up the pc's both were actively whispering amongst themselves, it was almost like they had an in joke and was playing her for a fool, but deciding to not let her insecurity get to her, she moved on, it was likely just her inferiority complex acting up due to just how gorgeous these people were.

going through the motions in the end nothing they said made much sense and it seemed their idea of who they were looking for was extremely vague, they didn't have a surname, last lived address or anything, not even schools she had attended prior.

Desmond and the girl who she eventually figured out was named Ash instead just kept starring at her with an intensity that made her uncomfortable, her patience was a breaking point and she finally snapped loosing her temper a bit feeling she was being toyed with, as she calmed herself down both of them was looking at her with an expression that seemed like they just found atlantis after a decade of search and had been insisting it existed while everyone called them mad.

both stood up and gave Kira a very weirdly formal bow.

"I believe we found what we have been looking for, but a bit more investigation must be done, so I will take my leave with my sister, I thank you very much for your time"

Are you absolutely bullshitting me!

Kira thought to herself, had they literally just come here to see how long it took them to piss off a normal individual like her, just because she wasn't super star pretty or a model didn't mean that she was an object to be toyed with

Putting on a very fake smile she gave them a polite wave while they left the library, while she went into the staff room to kick the wall and blow some steam.

Jane came into the room after a tiny bit.

"Kira I didn't want to bring this up while your friends was here, but yesterday Jack upon arriving home had found some newfound self esteem and stood up to his mom, I'm obviously reading between the lines of what happened but she have filed charges against you for being a bad influence on kids, and since she is one of the bigger funders the upper management just called.

They are apologising deeply but you're being let go, the official reason is down staffing due to having less people due to the pandemic hence the extra work isn't needed and as you're less senior are you the one to be let go the call just came in with the final decision while you were in here.

You will be given a full severance package and granted pandemic relief immediately so you won't have economical trouble, I managed to get you this much, in return they are asking you to burn your secret evidence stash and to never utter a word about it, as it would look bad for the library if you slandered the people who donate the most money.

Kira looked at Jane in shock and disbelief.

"You knew about my stash?"

looking guilty Jane answered,

"yes but only I knew where it was, the higher up knew but since they couldn't come look and I refused to do so they couldn't do anything about it, ultimately I ended up using it as negotiation on your behalf to atleast ensure your name wasn't slandered due to the vile lady, and you would be able to support yourself, I know I by doing this put your value above the kids but the kids are strong, they will make it, where I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to you"

Sighing Kira knew exactly what had been going through Jane's mind, they both felt the same about the kids but their hands had been tied.

"Jane, can you please do me this one favor?"

Jane nodded her head.

"lock the library and Turn off the power and pretend we had a power outage, I want to spend this time photo copying every single note onto my phone, by the time you turn on the power will I be back here pretending I was having a mental breakdown due to the news, after I leave you can freely take the stash and show them you burn it as was part of your deal"

Jane was still looking distraught but after she nodded her head with a lot of determination, and did as Kira asked, after they re enabled power once again came out of the staff room, looking at Jane with a somber expression, please call me and let me know if the kids enjoy my gift, also please tell Jack that it wasn't his fault.

She swore she would get revenge on that vile woman eventually, she knew Jack was likely going to he heartbroken but she also knew Jane would do her best and that he was in safe hands.

placing her keys and library identification card on the counter she gave Jane a polite smile and left, she technically had to the end of the week, but she also knew that the she beast would likely come personally to the library and not allow Jack to go if she saw her, and she would get paid regardless of turning up to work or not.

it was only 1pm and the day was still young, the kids was still in school, what a horrible fucking day, first some bs rich foreigners, toyed with her and afterward she got the news that the library was now letting her go to ensure they can keep lining their own pockets rather than actively reporting the lady for neglect and mental abuse.

At first she went home, but it was way too early as evening else was at work so no one to play with, she didn't feel like watching anything either so instead she decided to take a stroll in the city, after window shopping for a while, she ended up treating herself to some Sushi, it was expensive but delicious and lifted her mood a tiny bit, the day had slowly gone and shops had closed a few hours ago, wandering the city Kira decided that since she didn't have ice cream and besties to cry about how unfair the life was to try the 2nd most famous option, drown her worries away with alcohol, heading down towards the pub district she ended up distracted by a new pub she hadn't seen before, the front had cheesy blood and a writing that said "The hollow fang"

since the whole vampire craze recently I guess it didn't make for a bad theme, feeling slightly silly she decided, eh why not.

moving up to it she saw two entrances, one labeled supernaturals and the other one labeled humans.

Kira couldn't help but snicker, it was a rather amusing way of sticking to the theme with their staff entrance, in a bit better mood she nodded a greeting to the door guard smoking decided to head inside.
