The Deal

Macarthur sat sipping on a coffee that had been offered to him as the family leaders stood there aghast and Devlin had spilled his entire coffee onto his shirt as he stood up in horror.

The screens hadn't caught a lot of what happened; those watching only saw Regius wave his sword and afterward they watched a portion of the horde of goblins fall dead after blood shot behind them. Devlin pointed one hand at the screen while attendants came forth with a new shirt and coat. "MACARTHUR WHAT IN GOD'S NAME WAS THAT!"

Macarthur silently sipped on his coffee before glancing at the family leaders and smirking at Devlin. "I did say that even a young Leon would not compare to him. Keep watching the boy has only just begun, be prepared though. You readied this test thinking that everyone here would bring you the head of some of these goblins but the boy has access to his father's and Liz's notes about worlds. He's gonna bring you the head of the world boss and he will certainly expect proper compensation."

Macarthur laughed to himself after saying this because over the years Regius had completed many tasks for him and any time he went above and beyond It was certainly because he wanted something. Macarthur stopped smiling at the thought as he remembered the prices he had to pay whenever Regius had done this to him. Suddenly he began to whistle a happy tune. The thought that it wasn't his wallet the boy would be burning a hole through made the man incredibly happy. The royal guard silently appeared behind Macarthur's seat as Macarthur waved his hand and another seat appeared beside him and the man sat.

He had short wavy blue hair that hung down his back and ocean blue eyes that reminded one of the ocean's depths, a deep blue that reminded anyone bold enough to stare into them of the abyss that was deep water. He wore a navy suit that seemed to have some type of wave-like design flowing through it. Macarthur kept his eyes on the screen as the man got comfortable on the chair before waving his hand and making it larger to fit him slightly better.

"Are you still mad at us Macarthur you know as well as I do that the Atlanteans could not be there? A demon portal opened in the heart of our territory, we are still reeling from the losses of that day too."

Macarthur's mana flared for a moment before calming down "Don't talk to me of losses Leem. You all still think the families had nothing to do with that despite knowing that they made a deal with Sweden so she could kill Leon and her?" asked Macarthur.

Leem shook his head "None of us can stand up to Swigen even now and it is thanks to the 10 families that Demons have not marched on this world and destroyed the last bastion of humanity. It gave us the opportunity to grow stronger and fight back even if they did it for their own selfish reasons."

Macarthur stared back at him "Really and how much longer do we have before Swigen decides to take our world because those idiots made a deal with a being so far out of their range for such petty reasons. Our world waking back up gave us the means to fight back and they invited a demon lord into our home. They are traitors of humanity and need to be put down the sooner that is done the sooner we can prepare for what is to come because no matter what demon family Swigen sends we as a race are not yet powerful enough and they fed our brightest chances to the wolves."

Leem sat for a moment in silence before speaking again "Prometheus would be proud. You've trained her only child in her techniques and you may not be able to see it but the boy is dazzling. The amount of mana stored in his body is already comparable to some fragmented worlds like this goblin world; it is a blessing that Prometheus in her escape found the exact center of the Myriad Realms; it is only here that the boy can grow into his full potential. Has his mother's blood awakened in him yet?"

Macarthur's face grew pale at the mention as he shook his head "I think it did partially when his mana body came into being but no not fully I think it has to do with something with what Pr...Prometheus did. It's almost like he's got no memory of her."

Leem patted Macarthur's shoulder as he stood up "Then that brings me to the answer to your question. We have 100 years left. The deal brought us 100 years so let's hope the boy is ready by then or Mother planet help us all.
