Tyrone's plan

"Vera?"

"Leave me alone."

His arm fell and I was glad he left me alone, at last. Not for long; his voice rose again, pleading: "Vera?"

I answered this time: "Marcus?"

"He will certainly not come here."

"And his friends?" I asked in a trembling voice.

"Fear not! Neither will they." he said, and with my half open eyes I saw a smile touching his face.

Good answer, I thought. I was there, with this amazing man of whom I was not afraid, and I felt paradoxically safe.

"You want to tell me why I met you, that day?"

I closed my eyes as I spoke, and his face from the first day came back from the depths of my memories. He did not answer right away and my heart began to beat wildly, waiting.

"It would be better, yes," Tyrone finally said, "The cinema is a perfect place for a first meeting."

"And that's it?" I asked, suddenly tense.

He laughed shortly.

"No, I think I owe you a better explanation. No problem."

"Yes! There is one!" I corrected him severely.
