Misunderstandings

For the first day, the girls stayed in their respective apartments, scrolling through their social media. On the second, Nyxie went for a jog along the beach and Gracie to a picnic with a few friends. By the third, they lingered around with their phones at all times, eyes staying on the screen in case of a message coming through.

But, as the days passed and the temperature slightly dropped, both of them were yet to make the first move. With school starting again in only some days, they shopped for necessary items, cleaned their laptops from the trash that had been downloaded during the break, and went back to work.

On the first day back at the university, they didn't share any classes. Yet, the second, fourth, and fifth, they most certainly did.

When Nyxie walked into class on Tuesday, Garciela was already there, sitting at their usual spot and playing with a pen in between her fingers—something that they both knew would leave her palm covered in black ink.
