Breakfast for Two

Margaret’s mother was fine when she spoke to her through the phone. She is also not that stressed that she wasn’t able to call last night, or at least she was already appeased when she heard her daughter’s voice.

“I’m glad that you’re okay, and that you were able to help him,” Beatriz said. “At least we were able to give back a little to that person who gave us so much.”

“Yes, Mother.”

“So, when are you going home then?”

“We just need to meet some people this lunch. Someone very important to his company,” Margaret said. “Then after that, we’ll go home.”

“Okay. Take care.”

Margaret smiled. “I will… By the way, were you able to talk to Big Brother already?”

Beatriz didn’t answer immediately. Margaret felt like her mood suddenly changed.
